Pakistan making Corridor Road. Abb tera kaya hoga kalia
Year 1947 is a biggest tragedy of human history when
about 10 lac people were massacred and one crore had to migrate. About
35% of the total Sikh population had to run away from newly created
Pakistan. Quite obvious they had to leave behind their historical and
religious places.
In independent India whenever the Sikhs raised a question
of the pilgrimage to shrines in Pakistan, the RSS brand of mindset
raised questions on the very integrity of Sikhs. To prove their
patriotism the innocent Sikhs would temporarily forego their demand on
pilgrimages. This was in violation of international conventions on
pilgrimages. For instance Hajj to Mecca will continue even if there is
political tension in Arabia or Arabia's relations with some country were
tense. While Indian Govts would immediately suspend Sikh
pilgrimages even if there was small untoward incidence on border. Come
Kargil, come Babri, firing on Parliament and the Jathas are stopped.
But you cant befool all the people all the times and it
was ultimately proved via the examples like Kartarpur
Corridor that it is the RSS mindset which does not want that the Sikhs
have any interaction with the Muslims and it was for this reason that
jathas were stopped for one pretext or the other.
As you know Pakistan has already approved the Corridor to
Kartarpur and it was Indian Govt which was indifferent to it. This
sangrand i.e June 15, when the Sikh congregation was praying at the
border we found lot of dust rising on the other side of border i.e
towards Kartarpur sahib. We asked the BSF men as to what was that dust.
They said Pakistan is building a road to this border. My joy knew no
bounds. Reaching Amritsar I contacted my friends who have
links with Pakistan Gurdwara Sikhs to confirm construction of road.
Before they could confirm the yesterday newspapers have carried a Lahore
datelined news that Pakistan is building the Corridor Road. Take it from
me peace will have a dawn in this region once the corridor is opened and
hatred between the two will vanish. The miracle will happen.
RSS has been befooling Sikhs for long and the Sikh
representative body the Shromani Committee over which it has absolute
control would obviously endorse the RSS view point but now there will be
problem for both. How would they now say that Pakistan doesn't agree on
Corridor, the lie they have repeated a hundred times.
So now there will be road visible from Indian border
which will have sign boards such as, "WELCOME TO KARTARPUR SAHIB THE
SHRINE OF PEACE" I repeat popular Hindi movie Sholey's dialogue when
Kalia is fully trapped and the Gabbar asks him, "Abb tera kaya hoga
kalia." So do we ask from Shromani Committee and RSS. We wish peace to
these organizations also.

Even the touts feel shy to buy Mohali paper
Indian agencies like RSS are working from various angles
in their nefarious designs to absorb Sikhism in the Hinduism. They
believe if they can finish Budhism from Indian soil where does the tiny
Sikhism stand? These stupid and rogues don't understand that what they
are attempting, is in 21st Century and that too in the
presence of advanced IT. Besides there being written word of Guru i.e
the pious book Guru Granth Sahib which could be accessed any where in
the world while the Budhism had no such document. Guru Nanak was alone
but the Sikhs have millions of Guru Nanak in the shape of Guru Granth
sahib where his unadulterated message of peace exists. But these
scoundrels never stop and they attempt it at the cost of bread to crores
of hungry mouths that sleep without food. They are the people who
injected violence in the Sikh peaceful movement from 1948 to 1980.
It is the same very conspiracy that demolished our
religious and historical monuments like the Fort Lohgarh Amritsar, Guru
ke Mehal Amritsar, Chamkaur di Garhi, Thanda Burj Sarhind and many other
hundreds of archaeologically important monuments. Because the otherwise
most brave community of Sikhs are simple minded and the scoundrels
infiltrates in their organizations and sabotage from within. It
was part of the same very design that recently a Hindu sat on the seat
of Guru Granth sahib and there were security men to protect him. Their
aim was to demoralize the Sikhs. They don't know that this has been
happening right from the days of Guru Nanak patshah and we reply at the
appropriate time through our peaceful means.
Every community has black sheep and so are there the so
called Sikhs who are ready to harm their own house for the sake of a few
Rupees. We call them touts. It was part of this very design that ex CID
men like Kala Afghana were projected to create confusion among the
Sikhs. We congratulate the Khalsa Panth the way they thwarted moves of
Kale and Peeley pilley of RSS. They were the people who challenged the
very basic worship of Sikhs i.e nitnem the daily prayers of Sikhs and
they propagated that Jaap sahib, Sawaiye and Chaupie sahib be excluded
from Nitnem. Their whole idea was to confuse Sikhs because a confused
person can be easily converted to the other thought.
It was part of that very game plan that
the agencies saw that the touts launch a newspaper from Mohali. They
pumped crores of rupees in this project. The voluminous paper entered
the media market with a bang. It would openly abuse Sikh tenets. It
never felt shy of ridiculing the Five Kakkars of Sikhism. Like on this
7-6-09 it published a news making a mockery of a Sikh house that has
preserved the pious historical shoes of Guru Hargobind sahib at Jorha
Sahib Gurdwara Sudhar Ludhiana.
Yesterday my newspaper hawker came to get payment for May
month. A senior hawker, he would give me updates on newspaper
circulation numbers. I met him after 6 months. "Sir, Mohali paper has
miserably failed, it could not sustain, it has fallen rock bottom the
dust of Amritsar, and only about 300 copies are received for Amritsar
and suburbs." I took a sigh of relief. My estimate is there are about
10,000 touts in Amritsar and what is surprising even the touts feel shy
to buy this paper. Sikhan da Guru barha dhahda ei.

Al Biruni (973 AD) tells
us Hindus would not cut their hair
The biggest source on
Indian history Al Biruni (b. 973 AD) who accompanied Mehmood Gazanavi
(999-1030 AD) and wrote Kitab ul Hind (India Book). It
English translation by Dr. Edward C. Sachau published by National Book
Trust Delhi has the following account of Brahmins on page 85:-
"They (Hindus) don't cut any of the hair of the body.
Originally they went naked in consequence of the heat and by not cutting
the hair of the head they intended to prevent sunstroke.
They divide moustache into single plaits in order to
preserve it. As regards their not cutting the hair of genitals, they try
to make people believe that the cutting of it incites to lust and
increases carnal desire. Therefore such of them as feel a strong desire
for cohabitation never cut the hair of the genitals.
They let the nails grow long, glorying in their idleness,
since they don't use them for any business or work but only while living
a dolce far mente (Greek word) life, they scratch their heads
with them and examine the hair for lice."
We have archaeological sculptures showing Rishis
(Brahmins) with flowing beards and hair knots on heads.
Further Manu Simriti's penal code has it that where ever
there is provision of capital punishment for heinous crime and if the
same crime is committed by a Brahmin the Brahmin be punished by publicly
cutting his hair. It shows shearing of hair was a biggest insult and it
almost amounted to death of a Brahmin.
Then there was practice of Sati i.e jumping on the
funeral pyre of a dear one. The Brahmins instead of dying with their
dear ones would shear the hair of their face and body. Slowly this
became the custom and others castes also followed the suit presently it
is a custom and is called 'mundan'.
Then there was practice of laying down ones life at some
pious pilgrimage centre. One Britisher has given a detailed witness
account of such a sacrifice at Onkareshwar (MP near Khandwa). Then the
practice of mundane started at the pilgrimage centre i.e the Brahmin
ruled that shearing of hair amounted to sacrifice.
We have witness from Akhbarat e Durbar a Mualla i.e the
diary written in Mughal Court how Emperor Aurangzeb and Emperor Bahadur
Shah issued firmans promulgations asking the citizens to have hair cuts.
(This was necessary because the Govt wished that people disassociate
from the rebel Sikhs besides cutting of hair amounted to Sunnatt)
Do dear Jai Dev think twice before you tease a Sikh for
his hair. Your womanlike face should remind you of the cowardice of your
forefathers.

Hindu Chauvinism stands where it was 1000 years ago
My experience is India is teaching a lot of lies to her
students. I recently asked some schools students of 10+1 as to which
country is great in terms of progress in science and technology. Answer
is 'India'. When I ask how then there is silence. When I ask which
country is greatest. The answer is India. Why? "Because people of
various shades live here." I would say but they don’t live cordially.
The student becomes silent.
I talked to a responsible teacher. He says this is necessary so that
students takes pride in being Indian.
There are many Hindus like Swami Dayanand Sarswati who believe that
whole scientific knowledge of the universe already stands discovered in
Vedas and the West just stole it away.
I believe it amounts to suicide because one day this myth will explode
and then the man would hate his country and establishment.
It is for this chauvinism that India is left behind and I believe the
Pakistan's Islam also failed to eradicate those genes of chauvinism and
they are very much like their Hindu brothers.
Why to compare with the West, today India is lagging much behind
compared with Asian countries also; Thailand, Korea, Malaysia and China
have much more advanced. Only chauvinistic nations can afford to spend
more on Army than on bread/education/health.
What surprises me is this false self pride was almost at the same
magnitude a thousand years ago when Al Biruni visited India with Mehmood
Gazni (999-1030AD) Biruni wrote a very factual account of Hindus.
I have scanned only 4 pages from Al Biruni's Kitab ul Hind (India)
translated by Dr. Edward C. Sachau (National Book Trust Delhi) and
reproduce them in image form. I am surprised what Biruni said a thousand
years ago is relevant even today. We haven't changed.
In case these pages don't appear with the email the same can be seen at
http://punjabmonitor.com/misc/al_biruni.htm
Reading Biruni please always keep in mind that this account is 1000
years old. He reports about us:-
· They fight with words never stake their property on religious
controversy.
· They call us Maleccha
· Hindu hatred against foreigners increased with the conquest of Mohd
Qasam over Sindh and fall of Mulasthana (Multan)
· Scared of us they have shifted away centres of learning (from Punjab
to Kashmir, UP)
· Hindus believe there is no country like theirs, no religion like
theirs, NO SCIENCE LIKE THEIRS...
· Their haughtiness is such that if you tell them that there is a
scholar in Khurasan or Persia (also) they will think you are a liar.
· But when they are exposed to the other nations they would soon change
their mind and say their ancestors were not as narrow minded as the
present generation is.
· Biruni on collecting books and knowledge.
· Hindus and science.

WHY I
KILLED MAHATMA GANDHI- NATHURAM GODSE
---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: GT Verghese <gtverghese2@ gmail.com>

Subject: Nathuram Godse's final address to the court!
To: "GT_Verghese( yahoo2)" <gt_verghese@ yahoo.com>
Gandhiji Assassin Nathuram Godse's Final Address to the
Court
Nathuram Godse was arrested immediately after he assassinated
Gandhiji, based on a F.I.R. filed by Nandlal Mehta at the Tughlak road
Police staton at Delhi. The trial, which was held in camera began on
27th May 1948 and concluded on 10th February 1949. He was sentenced to
death. An appeal to the Punjab High Court, then in session at Simla,
did not find favour and the sentence was upheld.
The statement that you are about to read is the last made by Godse
before the Court on the 5th of May 1949.Such was the power and
eloquence of this statement that one of the judges, G.D.Khosla, later
wrote, " I have, however, no doudt that had the audience of that day
been constituted into a jury and entrusted with the task of deciding
Godse's appeal, they would have brought a verdict of "not Guilty" by
an overwhelming majority"
WHY I KILLED GANDHI
Born in a devotional Brahmin family, I
instinctively came to revere
Hindu religion, Hindu history and Hindu culture. I had, therefore,
been intensely proud of Hinduism as a whole. As I grew up I developed
a tendency to free thinking unfettered by any superstitious allegiance
to any isms, political or religious. That is why I worked actively for
the eradication of untouchability and the caste system based on birth
alone. I openly joined anti-caste movements and maintained that all
Hindus were of equal status as to rights, social and religious and
should be considered high or low on merit alone and not through the
accident of birth in a particular caste or profession. I used publicly
to take part in organized anti-caste dinners in which thousands of
Hindus, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaisyas, Chamars and Bhangis
participated. We broke the caste rules and dined in the company of
each other.
I have read the speeches and writings of Dadabhai Naoroji,
Vivekanand,
Gokhale, Tilak, along with the books of ancient and modern history of
India and some prominent countries like England, France, America and
Russia. Moreover I studied the tenets of Socialism and Marxism. But
above all I studied very closely whatever Veer Savarkar and Gandhiji
had written and spoken, as to my mind these two ideologies have
contributed more to the moulding of the thought and action of the
Indian people during the last thirty years or so, than any other
single factor has done.
All this reading and thinking led me to believe it was my first duty
to serve Hindudom and Hindus both as a patriot and as a world citizen.
To secure the freedom and to safeguard the just interests of some
thirty
crores (300 million) of Hindus would automatically constitute the
freedom and the well-being of all India, one fifth of human race. This
conviction led me naturally to devote myself to the Hindu
Sanghtanist
ideology and programme, which alone, I came to believe, could win and
preserve the national independence of Hindustan, my Motherland, and
enable her to render true service to humanity as well.
Since the year 1920, that is, after the demise of Lokamanya Tilak,
Gandhiji's influence in the Congress first increased and then became
supreme. His activities for public awakening were phenomenal in their
intensity and were reinforced by the slogan of truth and non-violence
which he paraded
ostentatiously before the country. No sensible or
enlightened person could object to those slogans. In fact there is
nothing new or original in them. They are implicit in every
constitutional public movement. But it is nothing but a mere dream if
you imagine that the bulk of mankind is, or can ever become, capable
of scrupulous adherence to these lofty principles in its normal life
from day to day.
In
fact, hunour, duty and love of one's own kith and kin and country
might often compel us to disregard non-violence and to use force. I
could never conceive that an armed resistance to an aggression is
unjust. I would consider it a religious and moral duty to resist and,
if possible, to overpower such an enemy by use of force. [In the
Ramayana] Rama killed Ravana in a tumultuous fight and relieved Sita..
[In the Mahabharata] , Krishna killed Kansa to end his wickedness; and
Arjuna had to fight and slay quite a number of his friends and
relations including the
revered Bhishma because the latter was on the side of the aggressor.
It is my firm belief that in dubbing Rama, Krishna and Arjuna as
guilty of violence, the Mahatma betrayed a total ignorance of the
springs of
human action.
In more recent history, it was the heroic fight put up by Chhatrapati
Shivaji that first checked and eventually destroyed the
Muslim tyranny
in India. It was absolutely essentially for Shivaji to overpower and
kill an aggressive Afzal Khan, failing which he would have lost his
own life. In condemning history's towering warriors like Shivaji, Rana
Pratap and
Guru Gobind Singh as misguided patriots, Gandhiji has merely exposed
his self-conceit. He was, paradoxical as it may appear, a violent
pacifist who brought untold calamities on the country in the name of
truth and non-violence, while Rana Pratap, Shivaji and the Guru will
remain enshrined in the hearts of their countrymen for ever for the
freedom they brought to them.
The accumulating provocation of thirty-two years, culminating in his
last pro-Muslim fast, at last goaded me to the conclusion that the
existence of Gandhi should be brought to an end immediately. Gandhi
had done very good in South Africa to uphold the rights and well-being
of the Indian community there. But
when he finally returned to India
he developed a
subjective mentality under which he alone was to be the final judge of
what was right or wrong. If the country wanted his leadership, it had
to accept his infallibility; if it did not, he would stand aloof from
the
Congress and carry on his own way. Against such an attitude there can
be no halfway house. Either Congress had to surrender its will to his
and had
to be content with playing second fiddle to all his eccentricity,
whimsicality, metaphysics and primitive vision, or it had to carry on
without him. He alone was the Judge of everyone and every thing; he
was
the master brain guiding the civil disobedience movement; no other
could know the technique of that movement. He alone knew when to begin
and when to withdraw it. The movement might succeed or fail, it might
bring untold disaster and political reverses but that could make
no
difference to the Mahatma's infallibility. 'A Satyagrahi can never
fail' was his formula for declaring his own infallibility and nobody
except himself knew what a Satyagrahi is. Thus, the Mahatma became the
judge and jury in his own cause. These childish insanities and
obstinacies, coupled with a most severe austerity of life, ceaseless
work and lofty character made Gandhi formidable and
irresistible. Many people thought that his politics were irrational
but they had either to withdraw from the Congress or place their
intelligence at his feet to do with as he liked. In a position of such
absolute irresponsibility Gandhi was guilty of blunder after blunder,
failure after failure, disaster after disaster.
Gandhi's pro-Muslim policy is blatantly in his perverse attitude on
the question of the national language of India. It is quite obvious
that Hindi has the most prior claim to be accepted as the
premier
language. In the beginning of his career in India, Gandhi gave a great
impetus to Hindi but as he found that the Muslims did not like it, he
became a champion of what is called Hindustani. Everybody in India
knows that there is no language called Hindustani; it has no grammar;
it has no vocabulary. It is a mere dialect, it is spoken, but not
written.
It is a bastard tongue and cross-breed between Hindi and Urdu, and not
even the Mahatma's sophistry could make it popular. But in his desire
to please the Muslims he insisted that Hindustani alone should be
the national language of India. His blind followers, of course,
supported him and the so-called hybrid language began to be used.
The charm and purity of the Hindi language was to be prostituted to
please the Muslims. All his experiments were at the expense of the
Hindus. From August 1946 onwards the private armies of the Muslim
League began a
massacre of the Hindus. The then Viceroy, Lord Wavell,
though distressed at what was happening, would not use his powers
under the Government of India Act of 1935 to prevent the rape, murder
and arson. The Hindu blood began to flow from Bengal to Karachi with
some retaliation by the Hindus. The Interim Government formed in
September was sabotaged by its Muslim League members right from its
inception, but the more they became disloyal and treasonable to the
government of which they were a part, the greater was Gandhi's
infatuation for them. Lord Wavell had to resign as he could not bring
about a settlement and he was succeeded by Lord Mountbatten. King Log
was followed by King Stork. The Congress which had boasted of its
nationalism and socialism secretly accepted Pakistan literally at the
point of the bayonet and abjectly surrendered to Jinnah. India was
vivisected and one-third of the Indian territory became
foreign land
to us from August 15, 1947.
Lord Mountbatten came to be described in Congress circles as the
greatest Viceroy and Governor-General this country ever had. The
official date
for handing over power was fixed for June 30, 1948, but Mountbatten
with his ruthless surgery gave us a gift of vivisected India ten
months in advance. This is what Gandhi had achieved after thirty years
of undisputed dictatorship and this is what Congress party calls
'freedom' and 'peaceful transfer of power'. The Hindu-Muslim unity
bubble was finally burst and a theocratic state was established with
the consent of Nehru and his crowd and they have called 'freedom
won by them with sacrifice' - whose sacrifice? When top leaders of
Congress, with the consent of Gandhi, divided and tore the country -
which we consider a deity of worship - my mind was filled with direful
anger.
One of the conditions imposed by Gandhi
for his breaking of the fast
unto death related to the mosques in Delhi occupied by the Hindu
refugees. But when Hindus in Pakistan were subjected to violent
attacks he did not so much as utter a single word to protest and
censure the Pakistan Government or the Muslims concerned. Gandhi was
shrewd enough to know that while undertaking a fast unto death, had he
imposed for its break some condition on the Muslims in Pakistan, there
would have been found hardly any Muslims who could have shown some
grief if the fast had ended in his death. It was for this reason that
he purposely avoided imposing any condition on the Muslims. He was
fully aware of from the experience that Jinnah was not at all
perturbed or influenced
by his fast and the Muslim League hardly attached any value to the
inner voice of Gandhi. Gandhi is being referred to as the Father of
the Nation. But if that is so, he had failed his paternal
duty
inasmuch as he has acted very treacherously to the nation by his
consenting to the partitioning of it. I stoutly maintain that Gandhi
has failed in his duty. He has proved to be the Father of Pakistan.
His inner-voice, his spiritual power and his doctrine of non-violence
of which so much is made of, all crumbled before Jinnah's iron will
and proved to be powerless. Briefly speaking, I thought to myself and
foresaw I shall be totally
ruined, and the only thing I could expect from the people would be
nothing but hatred and that I shall have lost all my honour, even more
valuable than my life, if I were to kill Gandhiji. But at the same
time
I felt that the Indian politics in the absence of Gandhiji would
surely be proved practical, able to retaliate, and would be powerful
with armed forces. No doubt, my own future would be totally ruined,
but the nation would be saved from the inroads of Pakistan.
People may
even call me and dub me as devoid of any sense or foolish, but the
nation would be free to follow the course founded on the reason which
I consider to be necessary for sound nation-building. After having
fully considered the question, I took the final decision in the
matter, but I did not speak about it to anyone whatsoever. I took
courage in both my hands and I did fire the shots at Gandhiji on 30th
January 1948, on the prayer-grounds of Birla House.
I do say that my shots were fired at the person whose policy and
action had brought rack and ruin and destruction to millions of
Hindus. There was no legal machinery by which such an offender could
be brought to book and for this reason I fired those fatal shots. I
bear no ill will towards anyone individually but I do say that I had
no respect for the present government owing to their policy which was
unfairly favourable towards the Muslims. But at the
same time I could
clearly see that the policy was entirely due to the presence of
Gandhi.
I have to say with great regret that Prime Minister Nehru quite
forgets that his preachings and deeds are at times at variances with
each other when he talks about India as a secular state in season and
out of
season, because it is significant to note that Nehru has played a
leading role in the establishment of the theocratic state of Pakistan,
and his job was made easier by Gandhi's persistent policy of
appeasement towards the Muslims. I now stand before the court to
accept the full share of my responsibility for what I have done and
the judge would, of course, pass against me such orders of sentence as
may be considered proper. But I would like to add that I do not desire
any mercy to be shown to me, nor do I wish that anyone else should beg
for mercy on my behalf. My confidence about the moral side of
my
action has not been shaken even by the criticism
levelled against it on all sides. I have no doubt that honest writers
of history will weigh my act and find the true value thereof some day
in future.

Martial Races and
Recruitment in Indian Army

Devinderji,
1. Lt.Gen is right as a soldier. The loyalty and discipline of
the soldier is "he obeys the orders of his superiors even at
the risk of his life". There is no room for any argument there
nor "patriotism" .
A few exceptions are like an inebriated Nehru kin Gen Kaul
preventing opening of the armoury when Chinese were fast
descending the mountains, and the lower officers taking charge
and opening the armoury and proceeding to meet the invaders.
It was immaterial whether it was Sikhs or others. All soldiers
when under British rule obeyed them and immediately afterwards
Gen Cariappa downwards. Gen Cariappa, though he wanted a week
to clear entire Kashmir area of invaders, obeyed Nehru's
orders for "cease fire". This is army discipline.
2. However, I do not agree with his theory and concept of
martial race as British coinage only. Historically, when India
had to face invaders from the North-west -Khyber Pass down the
plains, it was not the Kashmiri Pandits or other Brahmins who
took the swords to face them. It was the Sikhs and Jats, the
Rajputs and Mahratta-s like Shivaji or Peshwa-s or Rani
Lakshmibai or the Kshatriya-s in the other parts of the
Country who were fighters in the field and they were the
fighting race I had referred to as Martial Race, even before
British entered India.
3. From the time of Sardar Baldev Singh, the first defence
Minister under Nehru, Sikhs have constituted an important
component of defence forces, though I do not berate the other
groups present.
Indira Gandhi created the Frankestein Bindranwale to counter
the growing Nirankari influence in Punjab, and after the
latter were annihilated, the "Genie" realising his power,
became uncontrollable leading to the "Operation Blue Star",
esp. after a Gen. was shot at the entrance to the temple.
Khalistan movement had indeed its impact on reduced
recruitments of Sikhs but the 1984 events had precipitated the
issue so much that no Sikhs were recruited, nor given
important positions/ promotions as the aftermath of the Indira
ssassination by Beant Singh. But this did not last long and
Sikhs are back in the general stream in strength, and thanks
to KPS Gill, (another result oriented Rajpakshe ) the movement
was nipped and totally removed from Punjab.
4. Again I do not agree about the equal representation from
all segments- a political statement from Gen.Puri.
Gujarat is perhaps the least represented in the defence
forces, more due to the Gujarati's peaceful and non-violent
attitude unless cornered as in Communal riots. Would the
defence forces fill the proportionate vacancies with Gujarati
candidates? They would be total misfits to fight in the
frontlines and you would find them manipulating share market
from the tents!!
On the other hand you take a Nair from Kerala or a Naik from
Maharashtra or other martial races I have given earlier, they
constitute the cream of the fighting forces and select Black
Commando-s like Unnikrishnan of Bangalore and his equally
virulent father, who refused entry to the Chief Minister of
Kerala to his house as well as the awards to his son
posthumously.
Each region in India has its own personalities highlighted
through its people, evolved through experiences. Starting from
South, Travancore and Malabar forces were the fittest to
fight, equally good are Coorg-s, Mahratta-s, Rajputs as well
as Jats, Sikhs..etc. who have been exposed to war and fighting
since generations and know about the techniques.
It was a political move by Rajiv Gandhi to have equal
representation policies when Bihari farmers and UP industrial
workers and other sloths were inducted to the armed forces to
fulfil the critereon, and ask the officers how difficult they
find to train them and they are often shunted out to
non-combat jobs!!
IT WAS A POLITICAL DECISION BY RAJIV GANDHI WITH APPEASEMENT
TO CERTAIN SEGMENTS OF THE SOCIETY AND EVERY DEFENCE TOP BRASS
KNOW ABOUT IT. IF YOU WERE IN DELHI THEN, YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN
OF THE FACTS FROM ARMY HQTRS.

Kumar Ji, After I wrote to you the following email.
I consulted my brother in law Lt.Gen.Mohinder Puri, the well
known hero of the Kargil days who recently retired as the
Deputy Chief of Army Staff. He says that the concept of
martial races was given by the British to those who fought
their wars for them. He further stated that the present
recruitment policy in the army is based on the concept of
equal representation from all the segments of the Indian
society and not on any political or historic considerations.

Kumar jI,
I agree with what you have said. The army should only use
simple criteria of fitness and loyalty to the motherland , and
of course bravery which is judged during action in the
field. The Sikhs are indeed a martial race and fine soldiers
and their bravery during the two world wars in which they took
part, is still remembered by the British and whenever there is
a meeting of the British Legion, the Sikhs are present in
great numbers displaying all their distinghuised service
medals and other honours. Even after independence, their
performance in J & K and in the Bangladesh war of independence
bears out this fact. Sikhs constitute some 2 percent of the
total population of India. Their representation in the army
was 12 per cent which was substantial from any standards.Their
loyalty and their patriotism is also unquestioned. Having
said that if rubbed the wrong way they can also prove to be a
very volatile minority community of India.
Unfortunately due to the quirks of history the Sikhs lost
their way and started talking in a different language. During
the operation Blue Star, some pockets of Sikhs army personnel throught
India indulged in mini mutinies and killed some of
their officers not to mention about the Prime Minister of the
day.. I do not know whether the decision by the GOI to reduce
their representation in the army to the present 5/6 percent
was triggered by this unfortunate outcome of the Khalistan
movement or whether there are some other political
considerations. I can not find any logical answer to the
decision.. May be you have a better explanation for it.

Devinderji,
The suggestion was not to have majority of Sikhs in the
defence forces and it can never be as the total population of
Sikhs and the % of the representation on the defence forces
will be insignificant.
But Sikh Regiments were reputed for their valour and fierce
attacks on ground wars and hand to hand situations in the
past, though equally ferocious were the Jats, Rajputs,
Mahratta-s as well as Southerners called generally Madras
Regiment.
What was suggested that merit and fitness to fight should be
the main critereon while selecting for Armed forces within the
stipulated parameters. No reservations/ favouritisms should be
shown in recruitments to these jobss needing high degree of
patriotism and valour

I think I generally agree with what has been said below but
there would be no problem in restoring the status quo as it
existed in 1948 but there are some obvious dangers in having a
majority of Sikhs in the army while they are harping on a
separate Sikh state and separate Sikh nationhood. DT

I am sure S. Kumar is not only an aged scholar he is living
in past too. What he has said holds true of the Sikhs in past, not
present. To that extent he is right Sikhs
were India's patriots of the first order. Of the total freedom fighter
hanged
by the British 86% were Sikhs. Coming to the Sikhs as India's frontier
defenders is again a bygone fact. India Govt no longer considers Sikhs
merit as
frontier defenders. Look Kumar sahib! when India attains freedom roughly
30% of
the Indian army were Sikhs. Now the Govt says they can't be recruited
more than
their share in population i.e about 1%. We Sikhs are protesting on this.
Why
this should happen in secular India where merit is supposed to be sole
criterion
for recruitment? Why this question of proportionate recruitment? Can we
then
say that Brahmins should also be recruited in proportionate of their
population
share? They are roughly 2-3% but about
18% are manning the IAS and IFS like plum posts.
Coming to the Sikhs contribution in economy, here again u
appear to be wrong as the Govt doesn't want their economic contribution
to the
country they madly loved and defended. Facts speak themselves:
The Central Govt has accorded tax holiday to the industries
that come up in the neighbourhood of Punjab namely Himachal Pardesh,
Uttrakhand
& J&K. For 15 years there is no tax: Income tax, sales tax, free land,
electricity at highly subsidized rates. Can a Sikhs industry flourish in
the
neighbourhood Punjab?
You yourself have rightly ignored the Sikhs contribution to
food grains. Perhaps you don't know this little Sikh Punjab's
contribution in
the India's food grain store is roughly
80%. But the Govt doesn't want the Sikhs to buy land in J&K, Himachal,
Uttrachal and Rajasthan. Why?
On the other hand our river water has also been snatched
away. We would not mind if it is taken away for drinking purposes in the
neighbourly states. It is done under an unproductive approach for
irrigation.
Because you know a lot of water is lost when it is carried through canal
to
long distances. The water which has been taken away would have proved
more
productive here in Punjab. Our farmers say, 'Daryavan vall dhyan de;
Harhan
wele Punjab de, Soke wele Haryana Rajsthan de' i.e pay attention to the
river
waters they belong to Punjab when they give floods and when it is
drought they belong
to Haryana and Rajasthan: A gross violation of Riparian Principle.
But sir, Guru Nanak 's faith prohibits us talking in terms
of Hindus and Muslims. We love both. Our love is humanity. Awal allah
noor
upaya kudrat ke sabh bandey.
We protest at this injustice and thus invite your wrath to call us
traitor Sikhs.

RSS
s Reveals faces of touts
The
Sikh India story from roughly 1980 to 1993 is the the tale of Punjabi
militancy. After storming of Golden Temple in 1984 the then Home
Secretary rightly remarked, "We have broken the backbone of Sikhs."
Obviously when a nation is subdued some of its black sheep would rush to
the new ruler to show that they have ever been faithful to him.
Obviously a winner nation would endeavour to ensure that the chances of
future mutiny are fully eliminated. The armed war follows propaganda war
and India rightly launched it in time.
MKDhar a former joint director of Intelligence Bureau has in his book
revealed that India's IB and RAW are motivated by the RSS philosophy.
We therefore believe that agencies and RSS are hand in glove in
clandestine actions. So come propaganda war on Sikhs and we believe RSS
heads it. In this war (1) media and journalits are first target followed
by (2) writers and (3) religious preachers and (4) politicians. I
repeatedly write on this issue because I too have felt it. I protest
on this because India being a secular country should not interfere in
religious matters of any faith. The way secret agencies and RSS are
playing with Sikh sentiments can give rise to any ugly event at any
time. I regret how the Govt has almost given a free hand to them to go
to any extent in hurting the religious feelings of Sikhs. Only a
fortnight before the recent parliamentary elections an RSS man climbed
the platform at Golden Temple where Sikh holy book is installed and the
security men sheilded him from Sikh devotees.
On
internet the propaganda drama is at its climax. Two teams enact this
dubious play. 'A team' is represented by the naastik or atheist kind of
scholars who will discover any doubtful event or case of Sikh history or
religion and would project and churn it to the maximum extent then 'B
team 'would defend the tradition. Govt or the RSS obviously supports
both the teams. B team obviously gets the hero's status among Sikhs. In
last 5-6 years about a dozen various issues were raised to demoralise
the Sikhs. The foremost being 'Dasam Granth' and 'Kala Afghana' ones.
While Kala Afghana issue stands buried after the dubious writer withdrew
from A Team, B team claims victory for it. Perhaps RSS thinks it should
get credibility for for the work of B Team. It has surprised every body
after RSS has recently exposed some members as its own. People like us
regret RSS has exposed only 'Low Priced' stock which were available at a
throw away rate. We hope it will also reveal high priced team.
Interestingly some one Gurdev Singh Sidhu
gurdevsinghsidhu@yahoo.com
has reported on a yahoogroup ihro that the Sikh wing of RSS the Hindu
militant organisation in its Nagpur meeting has conferred status of
permanent invitees on certain Sikhs (B team). It further declared that
RSS would even like to honour certain individuals publicly. The Punjabi
email has following names.

I
know some of the above members have even exposed on internet it
surprises me when the RSS owns them.
You
talk to these people and you will find that they are such a stuff who
can boast of befooling even the almighty God. In their heart of heart
they feel they are befooling even the RSS i.e they consider themselves
as super minds.
But
they can tolerate the defiling of the fair name of the Guru. I have the
case of Panthik Weekly
www.panthic.org before me whose target is scattered overseas Sikhs.
Interestingly it doesn't fail where the other media has failed. At
times you out rightly feel it is mouth piece of RSS. RSS stage manages
some incidences to demoralise Sikhs and Panthic weekly reports them to
Sikhs. I protest against the agencies who hurt the Sikh feelings through
these touts.
Finally take it from me that the bravest of people can have some most
coward stock also when the nation is demoralised i.e now you find some
of the most coward people you will not otherwise find even with the
known meek nations.
But
my these friends challenge the Guru's advice that fate is
pre-determined. They think they are masters of their fate. Obviously the
clever person thinks that it is his intelligence through which he is
enjoying life which in fact is hell.
A
member has also protested at this disclosure and says it is an attempt
to malign their fair names. We ask him, ' par tussi RSS di meeting
wich varheva lain gaye see.' We learn your photo attending the
Mehrauli session also exists.

But its beauty is captivating notwithstanding.

Faridkot is the city founded by father of Punjabi

religious frontiers and all Punjabis visit them where caste and religion
become irrelevant. The 700 old fort here is best preserved.

Nau Nidh Rai Aggarwal of
Batala
In Dec 1988, I was transferred to Batala from
medieval city of Burhanpur, MP; where there were hundreds of
archaeoligically important monuments. As I came to Punjab a rank below I
held in MP, here my job involved inspection of factories. Punjab was
then witnessing a political turmoil and the militants were having upper
hand. Having faced a mild communal attack in Nov. 84 and with memories
of Delhi 1984, I nurtured sympathy with militants. But when the
innocents were killed it would create confusion in my mind.
Often the clever businessmen would involve the
inspectors in some or the other dialogue to kill the inspection time.
Nau Nidh Rai Aggarwal who ran a group of factories at Aliwal Road Batala
was such a shrewd businessman. Before the factory account books were
placed before me Nau Nidh commenced, "Sardarji kithon badal ke aye o?" I
said from MP. He continued, "from heaven to hell." I said Punjab is
still my heaven. He said, "It was." He commented,"The fools are trying
to create a wedge between Hindus and Sikhs," He asked, "who can separate
nails from flesh?"
I disagreed with Nau Nidh and told him the cleavage
stood already created in a very subtle and cunning way and we failed to
realise it. Nau Nidh protested at my statement.
I opened my brief case and took out the Punjabi
newspaper Ajit. I said here lies the proof. I read Punjabi newspaper and
you have a Hindi Punjab Kesri on your table. Your children go to Hindi
schools an mine to Punjabi. I emphasised how division has already been
fabricated but all we needed its acceptance in principle. I said we
can't find permanent solution unless we accept the problem. Fortunately
(It would have been difficult for me to defend killings) our discussion
shifted from Punjab communalism to language. Nau Nidh said, "Oh this
Punjabi is a newly created script by Akalis. It was no where just 30
years ago except the Guru Granth sahib."
Since I had some knowledge of history of scripts, I
tried to explain him how the Gurmukhi was an ancient script and as old
as Devnagari if not older. I explained him how historically there in
Punjab existed only two scripts namely Shahmukhi (Persian) and Gurmukhi
after the Brahmi. I explained how our anceint inscription on temples and
wells were in Gurmukhi. May be its name would be diffirent and that how
the name Gurmukhi was given during the time of Sikh Gurus. How most of
the historical authors in Punjabi were the Hindus themselves and how the
religious literature like the Ramayana and Mahabharat were also written
in Gurmukhi. How the Punjabi literature was much older than the Hindi. I
cited examples of Baba Farid and Nath Yogi literature and how Hindi was
developed only 500-600 year ago only. But for Nau Nidh all my talk was 'bakwas'
though he didn't use this word openely.
Our inspection started. Nau Nidh again tried to
handle the Inspector. He praised me, "Sardarji you seem to a well read
person, and that you should be an author." I said since I was a Govt
employee I have no freedom to pen these things though I wrote on
non-political subjects like the archaelogy and how Burhanpur offered me
a great opportunity.
Nau Nidh suggested me to visit the ancient Hindu
temples around Batala and said some of them were 2000 years old. I told
him there was hardly any Hindu structure in Punjab which went beyond the
Sikh raj days. But Nau Nidh differed with me. Of the list of temples he
suggested to me were those in Bhandari Mohalla, Kalanaur and Achal.
The very following day I had the opportunity to
visit Bhandari Mohalla, Batala. Obviously I didn't fail to go to the
temple. When I bowed to the diety an inscription in Gurmukhi greeted me
which read that the temple was constructed 180 years ago.
I proceeded to the next factory after visiting the
temple. It was a Sikh's factory and the owner was a bit tense due to
presence of the inspector. To make the atmosphere conducive and cool I
narated the Nau Nidh discussion and told him how I would proceed to Nau
Nidh to tell him how he was wrong and the proof was temple inscription
on Bhandari Mohalla and Kalanaur. Gurmukhi was the script of Punjabi
people.
The Sardar politally advised me, "Please don't
inform him they will erase the historic inscriptions." I faithfully
complied with and never saw Nau Nidh thereafter. Though the Kalanaur
inscription is still intact will some one inform me of the Bhandari
Mohalla position?
It is a fact language issue has gravely divided the
most dynamic community of the world the Punjabis. (I mean Punjabis
beyond the Barbed Wire Border also) We have shed a lot of blood on that
and hope some solution will be found one day in the changed environment
where hatred has vanished between the West, middle and East Punjabis.
All that we need is to learn is tolerance.

Once again Govt plays with Sikh sentiments. Disallows Jathas visiting
Pakistan shrines
To see a Sikh going on pilgrimage to his shrines in
Pakistan is always an eye sore for the Delhi Govts of India.
With one pretext or the other Jathas the pilgrim groups are
often stopped going Pakistan. But this time it is
some what unusual. Many Sikhs know that Sikh apex body the SGPC is under
indirect control of RSS and direct control of Govt and been itself in a
way sabotaging travel to Pakistan. May be keeping in view the elections
they resorted to blame game. The Govt did not allow travel and the SGPC
has publicly blamed the Centre. The SGPC head's lukewarm protest is
understandable. Mr. Avtar Singh doesnot know that Hajj pilgrimages have
never been discontinued even on the face of war threat. Even the Govt of
India deputed its full might when the Amar Nath yatra faced a potential
threat.
They can play with our sentiments because we the
Sikhs are a humble minority who missed their bus in 1947. Our only hope
is Guru Nanak who has ample opportunites for us in store.

SGPC-sponsored jatha not
cleared by Centre
Another one by DSGMC, smaller Sikh bodies allowed
Varinder Walia
Tribune News Service
Amritsar, April 11
As many as 304 Sikh pilgrims given visas through
the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and other smaller
Sikh bodies left for Pakistan in special trains to celebrate Baisakhi at
Panja Sahib, but more than 400 devotees who had applied visas through
the SGPC were not cleared by the central government.
Perhaps, for the first time the SGPC failed to send
a jatha to Pakistan due to non-clearance of its list by the Union Home
Ministry and the Ministry of External Affairs.
SGPC president Avtar Singh alleged the UPA
government played “mischief” since the Shiromani Committee had forced
the Congress high command to withdraw Lok Sabha ticket to Jagdish Tytler
and Sajjan Kumar.
The SGPC president said clearing of the names of
other Sikh bodies for visit to Pakistan proved that the UPA government
wanted to denigrate the SGPC.
The SGPC president met senior functionaries of
Pakistan embassy a couple of days ago, even then it (Pak embassy) could
not grant visas since its list was not cleared by the central
government.
He said this treatment to the SGPC showed that the
central government wanted to promote certain “insignificant Sikh
bodies”. He said on one hand the Centre had arranged three special
trains to carry Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan, and on the other hand it
failed to clear their lists .
The government of Pakistan had offered to deploy
para-military force, including Sutlej Rangers for security to the Sikh
pilgrims.
Meanwhile, the Sikh pilgrims who were asked to take
back their passports from the visa cell of the Golden Temple accused the
SGPC of having failed to arrange visas for them.

This March 20, let us pray for Chittisingpora victims and
our dead leaders.
35 innocent Sikhs villagers of Chittisinghpora
Anantnag Distt. of Kashmir were killed on March 20, 2000. People
including human right groups had strong suspicions that it was the
kartoot of Indian agencies. It was done in view of US president Bill
Clington's visit to Indian Sub-continent. The Sikhs were used as dummy
because the politicians knew that there is hardly any statesman who can
raise the cry here and internationally. Because the Akali leaders like
Parkash Singh Badal were manageable. They knew the Congress's Sikh
leaders have no guts because their own party had massacred about 3000
Sikhs in 1984. Obviously no one bothered to enquire into the massacre.
But God has his own ways to reveal the truth. The killers of
Chittisingpora subsequently killed 5 innocent Kashmiri Muslims and
claimed that they have liquidated the foreign militants responsible for
Chittisinghpora massacre. What the army branded as mercenaries were
innocent Kashmiris of the nearby villages. There was a mass protest and
the graves had to exhumed and it was finally determined through DNA
tests that the people were local innocents. Under tremendous pressure
the Govt had to order CBI enquiry which has now booked 5 army officers
including a Brigadier. We append here under related links from Indian
Express. You will here read how the killer Brigadier claims that they
were not alone to kill the innocent. It is being suspected that these are
also the killers of Chittisinghpora.
This March 20, let us shed a tear for those
innocent brothers. I pray to my Guru. Oh Akal Purakh what is this
situation? Why my Sikh leaders have become so coward that no one is
ready to raise the voice for the cause of those
innocents? My respected Guruji, after the Chittisingpora Massacre five
kashmiris were also killed but the Kashmiris are so strong that they
raised the cry and the culprits are behind the bars. Why my Sikh
brothers have become so coward? And how long will they remain in this
state? Oh mere neele wale Dasam Pita tusi bahurhi karo.

Blame J-K cops, not just us for Pathribal:
Brigadier to DGMO

Digging
up the Pathribal truth
![Digging up the Pathribal truth]()
NEW DELHI, MAY 14:
With the CBI filing chargesheets against five Army officers in the fake
Pathribal encounter and the case listed for hearing on May 24 in a
Srinagar court, Army Headquarters plans to ask the court to let them
hold a court martial instead of subjecting the officers to a trial after
a CBI probe.
The Indian Express has learnt that
Brigadier Ajay Saxena, the seniormost officer named as an accused by the
CBI, has written a letter to Lt General Madan Gopal, Director General of
Military Operations (DGMO), pointing out how five Army personnel (four
officers and a JCO) have been singled out for “harassment, ignominy,
humiliation, agony and financial strain” over an operation conducted
jointly by the Army and J&K Police.
Brig Saxena has said that the operation
was ordered by a senior Army officer (Sector Commander) of the Rashtriya
Rifles on the basis of information provided by the SSP of Anantnag.
Brig Saxena’s wife, Sushma Saxena, has
also written to the Army chief’s wife Anupama Singh who’s the president
of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).
Saying she was expressing the views of
wives of all five officers who have been indicted by the CBI, Sushma
Saxena wrote: “If our husbands are prosecuted in this case, then every
husband who is fighting in the Valley in the future is also liable to
face such action... all our husbands have done is obey orders and carry
out operations based on information provided by a Senior Commander and
the police.”
The circumstances of the Pathribal
encounter have now been outlined by the indicted officers for the Army
top brass. The DGMO is understood to have been told that:
•
The Pathribal encounter took place in an area notified as a Disturbed
Area under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 1990 and that protection
should be provided to the five officers named as “accused” by the CBI.
•
That two of the five persons killed in the operation were on the list of
active overground workers maintained by the Rashtriya Rifles and that
the CBI probe revealed that a third among the dead also had terrorist
links.
•
That during the relevant period (command of Brig Saxena), the 7 RR unit
received over 50 awards, including a dozen Sena medals. In two years,
the unit eliminated 78 militants.
•
That the CBI chargesheet had serious operational ramifications for
future Kashmir operations since it would create distrust in the rank and
file about verbal orders and posed a threat to the lone Kashmiri accused
whose intelligence inputs had led to the elimination of 40 terrorists.

Records show J-K police had big role in
2000 fake encounter
Express news service

NEW DELHI, MAY 14:
While the CBI has chargesheeted five Army officers, including a
Brigadier, for the killing of five civilians in a fake encounter in
Pathribal six years ago, the fact remains that the J-K police too played
a major role in the encounter. This is what The Indian Express found
out:
•
The FIR filed by the 7 Rashtriya Rifles described the fake encounter as
a “joint operation” with J-K Police
•
Daily diary reports of Sherbagh police post clearly indicates that on
the orders of the then Anantnag SSP, Farooq Khan, a SoG (Special
Operations Group) party was sent for a “secret operation”. In fact, ASI
Bashir Ahmad wrote about the “secret mission” in his departure report
•
Tajinder Singh, then DySP (SOG) Anantnag, and Col Ajay Saxena explained
the “joint RR-police operation” with the help of an extensive site map
to then Union Home Minister L K Advani, giving graphic details about the
killing of five Pak-based Lashkar terrorists who were behind the
massacre of Sikhs in Chittisinghpora
•
Advani congratulated the police and Army for the operation and even had
a group picture taken with the police and Army officers. Cash awards
were also announced for the officers
•
Kashmi Zonal Police headquarters issued a press statement, claiming that
five Lashkar terrorists responsible for the Chittisinghpora massacre had
been eliminated in a joint RR-Police operation. The then Union Home
Secretary Kamal Pandey gave a similar statement at a press conference in
New Delhi
•
Mohammad Yaqoob Wagay alias Chatti Guru, a local milkman, was picked up
a few days after the March 20, 2000 Chittisinghpora massacre by the
police for allegedly “guiding” the killers to the village. Union Home
Secretary Kamal Pandey announced his arrest in New Delhi and the police
and RR claimed that based on Wagay’s “leads”, they had killed five
Lashkar terrorists
•
Nine months later, Anantnag Police admitted that the police had no
corroborative evidence to chargesheet Wagay and that they have reduced
the charge from multiple murder to “trying to breach peace (CrPC
107/151)”
•
Once the CBI established that the five killed in the joint police-RR
operation were actually civilians, the question is: who picked up the
civilians? The J&K Police itself established that a Maruti van was used
to ferry one of the victims, Zahoor Ahmad Dal, from Anantnag.
This van was a seized vehicle, in the
custody of the police.

Gill calls for CBI probe into
Chittisinghpora Sikhs’ massacre
Express news service
Posted: Apr 29, 2006 at 0247 hrs IST
New Delhi, April 28:
Former Chief Election Commissioner and MP M S Gill today called for a
‘complete and comprehensive’ investigation into the massacre of Sikhs in
Chittisinghpora. He was reacting to The Indian Express report on
the CBI move to chargesheet five Army officers in the infamous Pathribal
‘‘encounter’’ in Anantnag in March 2000.
‘‘The massacre of 35 Sikhs in
Chittisinghpora in March 2000 was one of the most tragic incidents in
our country’s history. Now that it has been proved that the five
Kashmiris killed by the Army were not responsible for the act, the
question arises as to who was behind the massacre? Why has there been no
CBI inquiry into the massacre, timed to coincide with US President Bill
Clinton’s visit to India?’’ asked Gill.
He asked as to why, if the state
Government could call for a CBI probe into the deaths of five youths
who were held responsible for the killings, a similar probe could not be
ordered into the massacre itself.
‘‘Did the death of five people outweigh
that of 40 others that no need for a CBI inquiry was felt?’’ ‘‘It is
strange that the Sikh minority in the state was targeted for the first
time when it had remained largely untouched by militancy over decades.
How did the Sikhs get on the wrong side of the militants all of a
sudden? Why has the role of the army and the state police not been
examined in the case?,’’ he questioned, hinting at a possible political
angle to the massacre.

Chittisinghpora controversy: Tests
confirm forces killed civilians
Press Trust of India
Posted

Updated: Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at 1942 hours IST
Srinagar, July 16:
The Central Forensic Science Laboratory,
Kolkata, has established that five persons killed by security forces
following the Chittisinghpora massacre of Sikhs in 2000 were all local
civilians and not foreign militants as claimed by the forces.
Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, who
tabled the one-page CFSL report on Tuesday in the state Assembly, said,
"It has been clearly established that the deceased were not foreign
terrorists as claimed by the forces who led the operations, but they
were innocent civilians."
"In view of the gravity of the offence
made out as well as the attempt made by certain officials to destroy the
evidence and to ensure fair investigation" it had been recommended that
the case be taken up by the CBI, Abdullah said.
The agency would be requested to expedite
the investigation to bring the accused to Justice, he said.

Punjab in imminent nuclear threat zone - Rand Corporation
Yesterday, when I switched on TV a news analysis was being telecast
that Americas Rand Corporation experts have predicted a nuclear war
between India and Pakistan. Accordingly I tried to find the Rands real
story. Instead of accessing the real site I came accross many sites
including Hindutva ones quoting Rand. Here is one such site:-
http://newsonterror.com/future.html
An American Viewpoint on:
Futuristic Scenarios in the India-Pakistan Relationship
____________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________
If US think-tanks had their way, India's most cherished dream, to
emerge as a superpower, would be a reality. This is a result of a Study
undertaken by a Panel of American Military Strategists* who present
three extreme scenarios - of Pakistan being overcome by a US-backed
Indian confederation, Sino-Indian hegemony and a win-win China -
conjured up by an American study.
The Year 2010 - US Bombs Pakistan
"The United States of America uses its B-2 bombers in the year 2012
to launch conventional air-strikes to destroy Pakistani nuclear
facilities in a bid to prevent the nukes from falling into the wrong
hands. The extraordinary US action follows an unsuccessful Indian
conventional attack on Pakistani nukes, and a Retaliatory Pakistani
nuclear strike against Indian border forces. This sparks the
disintegration and disappearance of Pakistan, and creation of an
expanded Indian Confederation or Superstate."
This is not some Nostradamus indulging in apocalyptic visions. It's
just one of the many futuristic scenarios culled out from the "Asia
2025" study - a 147-page Opus - conducted by the US under secretary of
defence (policy). Written last year and distributed in limited circles,
these documents show that US defence planners are now shifting their
focus from Europe to Asia where they would wish to contain the threat of
an
Islamist Pakistan and an economically-resurgent China. This
may in future lead the US to seek closer alliance with India.
2010-12 C.E. Pakistan near collapse; Face-off over
Kashmir; Pak uses nukes on India; US takes on Pak Nukes
Rand Corporation's Ashley Tellis, one of the 15 top-guns of American
policymaking, who took part in the study, told Outlook: "These are
long-range perspective studies. Their chief virtue is that they help
policymakers think about alternative futures which would otherwise
escape them under day-to-day pressures."
2013-18 C.E. Pakistan accedes to India; India is superstate;
India, Iran, U.S. edge China out
This report was a result of a Study held at Naval War College,
Newport, Rhode Island, between July 25 and August 4, 1999, the study was
meant to explore what Asia might look like and what challenges it might
pose to US defence and national security planners till the year 2025.
The participants realised that the scenarios were speculative and
cautioned that they were not predictive. "Rather they are highly
imaginative descriptions of things."
2010-25 C.E. Indonesia fragments US intervenes Sino-India pact US
retreats India/China in control
An Asian diplomat in Bangkok added: "The remarkable thing is that
India has become such a major factor in US defence policymaking." The
nuclear tests by the Vajpayee government coupled with India's emergence
as a global IT superpower are bound to lead, sooner or later, to a
radical rethink on US defence alliances. What this means is that the US
will soon see India as a partner of choice.
2015-25 C.E. China flexes muscles Offers India deal S. Korea, Japan
push US out India S. Asia hegemony
The Year 2010 - India Finally Overcomes Pakistan in an Epic
Civilizational Struggle against the
Islamic Jihad (War to Convert the entire human population to Islam)
Scenario 1
The Day India Overcame Pakistan in an
Epic Civilizational Struggle lasting One Thousand years
The "New South Asian Order" scenario begins unfolding in the year
2010 with the imminent collapse of Pakistan, where ongoing economic
crises, ethnic conflicts and the government's helplessness on the law
and order front render it increasingly unstable.
"Sindhis, Baluch and Pathans, who have long resented a
Punjabi-dominated Pakistan, rebel. Mohajirs take to the streets. Islamic
extremism adds to the instability in two forms - Taliban's
destabilisation efforts and the growing power of the " the study says.
In contrast, India successfully combines political decentralisation
and economic reforms, generating rapid growth based on steep decline in
population growth and a massive influx of foreign direct investment.
Simultaneously, China's economic resurgence and belligerence in East
Asia brings the US closer to India. As Pakistan slides into anarchy, the
US remains focused on North Asia with its forces deployed in Japan and
South Korea.
By 2012, the Pakistani state is totally paralysed and loses
control to
Islamic extremists who infiltrate Kashmir.
"India demands that Pakistan end the Islamic incursions. When
Pakistan fails to respond, India moves into Azad Kashmir. Pakistan
issues a nuclear ultimatum for Indian withdrawal from Azad Kashmir. The
Chinese echo Pakistan's ultimatum and begin mobilising along India's
eastern flank between Nepal and Bhutan to sever the
Mizoram-Nagaland-Assam-Sikkim outpost of India, and threaten to use 'all
available means to stop Indian aggression'. The US urges restraint, and
despite other flashpoints, the US sends naval forces to the Bay of
Bengal and warns China to stay out," the study speculates.
Fearing that Pakistan would use its nuclear weapons, India launches
an unsuccessful conventional strike on the former's nuclear
capabilities. Next, Pakistan launches nuclear strikes against Indian
forces along their common border, driven by a "use it or lose it"
rationale.
The US intelligence shows that Islamists in Pakistan are seizing
the remaining Pakistani nuclear weapons. This goads the US to launch "a
conventional strike on Pakistan's nuclear sites".
"The extraordinary US action is also motivated by a desire to preempt
a full-scale nuclear exchange between Pakistan and India. The US strikes
by deploying deep penetration warheads launched from B-2 bombers to
destroy Pakistan's remaining nuclear forces. Faced with the reality of
US-Indian cooperation, China backs off on the northeastern front," it
adds.
"Total anarchy prevails in Pakistan. The Indian army moves in to
restore order. As the country disintegrates, Pakistan's regions accede
incrementally to India. The Sindhi, Baluch, and North West Frontier
Province parliaments vote to join an Indian-led confederation. An Indian
Confederation emerges. Isolated Punjab is compelled to join the
confederation and merges with its Indian counterpart to form a greater
Punjab province within the confederation," the scenario goes.
"India's central government grants extensive internal autonomy to
the Erstwhile Pakistani Provinces which are now confederal units within
India in exchange for control over their defence and foreign policies.
Economically vibrant, the confederation is recognized as the regional
hegemon and an economic magnet for trade and energy flows. The
disappearance of Pakistan and the emergence of the Indian Confederation
have a cascading effect across Central Asia. Afghanistan, is dismembered
by its neighbouring states - Iran, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan - who move
in to annex the territory controlled by their own ethnic groups."
The study says that Pakistan disappears by 2020, and the Indian
Confederation emerges as a regional superstate.
With Central Asia stabilising, energy pipelines from Central Asia,
via Iran, to the energy hungry subcontinent are constructed. The
East-West orientation of energy and commerce in Central Asia gives way
to a new North-South orientation. Iran becomes the main transit country
and Karachi the main port, to the East Asian markets.
It sees India becoming a "regional hegemon", and US planners are now
urging the US defence department to anticipate a heightened Indian
economic and strategic role in the region, raising the question: What
does all this mean for the US presence in Diego Garcia and the potential
for military cooperation with India?
In the end, the US discovers unexpected partners in India and
post-Islamic Iran
In the end, the US discovers unexpected partners in India and
post-Islamic Iran. Both countries (India and Post-Islamic Iran) take on
enhanced roles to protect sea-lanes for oil deliveries, reducing US
responsibilities in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf. According to the
study, China could respond to India's emergence not by challenging it
head on, but by increasing its activities in the Russian Far East and
Indochina. It may, thus, challenge US interests in East Asia. It could,
for instance, strengthen its position in Indochina and the Bay of
Bengal, making Southeast Asia the future arena of conflict and
competition.
And, if India does become a future US ally, what kind of development,
regional and global, would be needed to cement these ties further?
Tellis has a pithy list: "Collapsing Pakistan, aggressive China, threats
to Middle East oil, deeper
Indian-US economic and military engagement, high Indian
growth rates, Indian willingness to participate in combined peace
operations with the US."
Scenario 2
Anti-Islamic Sino-Indian Entente
A second scenario is the creation of a "New Sino-Indian Condominium."
In the lead-up to this development, the US tries but fails to reach a
strategic arrangement with India till 2010. India resents US
inattention, which feeds the Indian national psychology of wanting to be
seen as a great power.
"In a blatant act of self-assertion, India conducts a new round of
nuclear tests in 2008, precluding any possibility of moving forward in a
strategic relationship with the US. Growing anti-hegemonic sentiments
stimulate India to accelerate its military buildup, shifting attention
increasingly towards naval power," the study says.
__________________________________
New
__________________________________
As the US initiative towards India founders and eventually collapses
after India's nuclear tests, and as Indonesia's fragility becomes more
threatening, India and China initiate strategic discussions on regional
cooperation to secure sea-lanes, control regional unrest, and common
concerns.... The anti-hegemonic undertones of their discussion gradually
surface as an explicit shared objective in displacing the US from the
regions they seek to dominate.
Just how deep is
US mistrust of China in matters relating to defence? Tellis says
the mistrust is growing. And, how does this sit with US economic
interests in China? He responds: "Conflict not yet reconciled, and will
not be for a long time to come since China does not yet pose significant
direct threat to the US or US interests." In 2014, Indonesia fragments,
leading to a slaughter of wealthy Chinese, as separatist rebels seize
Indonesian gas and oil production. "Everybody except China and India
want the US to act" to restore order, the study says.
In 2016, during the run-up to a US presidential election, a small
band of Islamic militants, intent on hurting the US, fires a series of
powerful missiles at a US destroyer and frigate passing through the
narrow Lombok Straits near Indonesia.
More than 200 US sailors and marines are killed. All presidential
candidates pledge to bring American troops home and the US announces
immediate cessation of operations and orders US ships to pull back.
In 2017, Chinese and Indian leaders intensify their discussion of
ways to eject US presence from the South China Sea, where China wants to
establish hegemony, and from the Indian Ocean, where India wishes to
establish its supremacy. They tacitly agree to cooperate and decide on
joint action.
India moves rapidly into the Straits of Malacca, and China takes
control of the Lombok and Sunda Straits and reopens them to
international traffic. China also occupies the disputed Spratly Islands
and Natuna gasfields. India's navy takes command of the Malacca Straits
by cracking down on the pirates.
Most countries, including Japan, praise China and India for their
joint action. Between 2017 and 2025, the US presence in the Pacific and
Indian Oceans rolls back, and America's allies reach a new accommodation
with China and India.
"The tensions between China and India are not eliminated by their
dividing much of Asia into hegemonic spheres. But for the time being,
cooperation suits both perfectly..... The New Sino-Indian Order begins."
The study suggests that Sino-Indian cooperation might be impeded if
the US establishes a working strategic dialogue and common geopolitical
objectives with one partner. "India appears to be the more logical
choice of the two," the study says.
US may need to rethink its strict non-proliferation policy, the study
says, because some states like India which acquire nuclear weapons may
actually contribute to the US national security goals. "The US may be
faced with a trade-off between selective proliferation and regional
presence," the study says.
Scenario 3
India and China re-discover their Two Thousand Year Old
Relationship
THIS scenario is hinged on the fact that China's long-term goal is to
dominate Asia and this doesn't change whether China is strong or becomes
relatively weak due to domestic economic and political troubles. Beijing
is now determined to control Taiwan, the South China Sea, and the
Senkaku islands (also claimed by Japan).
Well before 2025, China will have established effective control of
Continental East Asia and peninsular Southeast Asia will fall under its
thrall. From 2000-2015, China increases its military presence in the
South China Sea, establishing several naval bases there. asean
(Association of South East Asian Nations) fails to act collectively
against Chinese expansionism.
The study, very clearly says, "Next, China temporarily and
adroitly neutralises India by recognising Indian hegemony in South Asia
and the Indian Ocean.
China withdraws from its de facto bases on Burma's Indian Ocean
coast. In return, India tacitly recognises China's hegemony over the
South China Sea, further undermining Southeast Asia's will to resist
aggressive Chinese encroachment."
Another scenario, entitled "China Acts" sees a full-blown naval
battle between China and the US, with the latter losing lives and
aircraft. This happens after the US withdraws from Japan and South Korea
by 2015 following ultra-nationalist protests in those countries against
US presence, ending in a series of terrorist attacks against US forces.
The damage is done and the American people support a pull out of their
forces from East Asia. China takes a series of steps to cash in on the
fact that the US has effectively no forward presence in Asia.
India sees the US Alliance as an opportunity
"India sees the US Alliance as an opportunity to elevate its position
in the Asian prestige hierarchy. India, which has been developing a blue
water navy, accelerates its programme and is capable of out-of-area
deployments. Like the Japanese, it also remains open to new defence
relationships and an enhanced diplomatic role in regional security
issues, particularly in the Persian Gulf," the study says. Here, India's
role is enhanced but it remains subordinate to China's strategic
interests.
What also emerges from these scenarios is the fact that India becomes
crucial to the United States strategic thinking, and could emerge as a
major regional power with whom the US would work together towards having
military tie-ups to
fight the dangers of theology-inspired terrorism to global
peace.

Hola Mohalla in news and not Chola da Mela. Do u
know why?
THE PARALLELS - The popular festivels of Hola
Mohalla at Anandpur and Chola Sahib da Mela at Dera
Baba Nanak normally coincide or are away by a week or less. This year
Hola falls on March 11 and Chole sahib da mela on March 3-5. Both the
fairs attract same number of pilgrims: between 7 -10 lakh. Hola Mohalla
attract comparatively larger number on a day or two but the Chola sahib
da mela runs continuously for a week and thus the attendence is almost
same.
THE CONTRAST:-Hola Mohalla gets profuse media
coverage while Chole da mela doesn’t. Politicians converge to Hola but
are shy to attend Chole da mela.
WHY? Now I have a GK question for the Sikhs. My question is there is
contrast? If you are pretty certain of the reply then u understand the
present state of politics of Punjab. Never mind I have appended a hint
below.
HINT:-
1.Holi is a Hindu festivel and Hola is a Sikh
modification
2.Chole da Mela:- At Dera Baba Nanak is on display
the garment (Chola) worn by Guru Baba Nanak. The Chola has Quranic
(Muslim) ayats and Arabic inscription on it. Besides the people have
glimpse (Darshan) of Kartarpur sahib which is in Pakistan.
3. The Guru on the other hand says that he loves
both Hindus and Musalmans but he says Sikhs are different from both.

Oh God! They Consumed Jalebi worth Rs. one lac - the BSF man
The week long mammoth festival of Dera Baba Nanak
is in progress. It started on March 2, 2009. The gathering was at its
peak on 4-3-09. By any miser estimate about 7 lakh people are visiting
the Border Point from where Kartarpur sahib is visible. Traditionally
the mela or gathering is meant to have darshan the glimpse of holy chola
the garment which Guru Nanak wore.
http://www.kartarpur.com/Chola%20sahib%20high%20reso.jpg
At the point on Border near Dera Baba Nanak from
where Kartarpur sahib is visible Darshan Sthal Indian border police the
Border Security Force have erected barricades to
control the rush of pilgrims. About 4 months ago the BSF received orders
that every visitor to Darshan Sthal be registered so that the Govt can
have an idea as to how many people are mad to see Kartarpur. Since then
a BSF man keeps record of people visiting.
Obviously every time I go to Darshan Sthal I would
innocently ask the BSF jawan as to how many people have visited today.
They would say ‘300’ ‘400’. Yesterday I asked the same question and the
unsuspecting BSF sentry spoke:-
“Sardarji tumhara dimag kam
nahin karta, yeh ginti kaise ki ja sakti hai.. Oh sardarji you are
stupid how can this number be counted? The stream is continuously
flowing. Yesterday they completely exhausted our canteen stock and in
the end of day our cash balance stood at whopping Rs.106353.”
Could we imagine the numbers of people that can
consume Jalebis and samosas of BSF canteen worth one lakh. The
number was visible to every one except the Delhi bosses who have
erected barbed fence to prevent pilgrims visiting the Sikh holy shrine
of Kartarpur sahib.
I request you to visit to see the images of mela in
progress:-

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad
chargesheet in the Malegaon blast case claims that as per statements
from the accused the town was singled out for the blast as “it was the
ideal place where the Muslim community crowd was the maximum” and that
prime accused Lt Col Prasad Purohit had told fellow conspirators it
was time to set up a parallel, Hindu government-in-exile which could
operate out of Israel and ensure a completely sashastra (armed) India.
Purohit, according to the
chargesheet, promised “all logistic help” with finances from several
quarters and support from some of his contacts in Thailand.
The ATS chargesheet, which includes
two important confession statements, statements of witnesses under
Section 164, laptop records, telephonic records, detailed SMSes and
financial transactions across states, will be filed tomorrow in the
designated MCOCA court chaired by sessions judge Y D Shinde.
The ATS will tell the court how a
group called Abhinav Bharat became a “front organisation” for a
conspiracy which led to an explosion at 9.26 pm on September 29, 2008
at Bhikku Chowk, Malegaon. While all eleven accused have been charged
with conspiracy, logistics and execution of the blast, the key roles,
according to the ATS, were those of Purohit, Sadhvi Pragya Singh
Thakur and Sudhakar Dardwivedi alias Dayanand Pandey.
This will be the first case where a
probe has been able to reach the conspirators — unlike other cases
where only those who planted bombs have been arrested. In this case,
the alleged bomb planters — Sameer Dange, Ramji Kalsangra — and Pravin
Patil, another on the wanted list, remain at large. Patil also used
the cover name of Mutalik and is a close aide of Purohit.

My emails remained
blocked for 17 days
Communicating
with Yahoogroups is a wonderful experience of my life. We get access to
the views of learned men of respective fields
without spending a pie. I am in journalism because of my hobby and even
gave up my job as Asstt. Director in Govt of India organisation. I feel
rather more free on internet besides I can't frequently publish my
journal because of high printing costs and other factors.
May be my
critical views are too pungent to be tolerated by the 'over sensitive
nose', my email to yahoogroups remained blocked from 30-12-08 till
15-1-08. I could neither receive any mail from any group nor could I
send, as my ISP had blocked my yahoogroups mails.
I was trying to
introspect as to where I erred which is a difficult thing. But at the
same time I feel why the army of Govt PROs whose presence is often felt
on yahoogroups remained silent and did not react in my case where ever I
was wrong. It is their duty to point out the cases where we cross the
frontiers of discipline rather than playing with the freedom of press.
They should counter with facts our allegations. If they block mails like
this that proves that our stand is correct and the authorities are
helpless.

Don’t roll back ties
with Pakistan: Boucher
Ashish Kumar Sen writes from
Washington
Even as India threatens to roll back
ties with Pakistan, a US official has cautioned against such a move
saying it is in both nations’ interests to continue moving ahead in the
relationship.
Assistant secretary of state for south
and central Asian affairs Richard Boucher said in an interview with this
correspondent: “India has to decide what its outlook is on ties with
Pakistan.”
“Our view is that there has been
tremendous progress in many of the government and economic relationships
with Pakistan. It is in both sides’ interests to continue that,” he
said, adding, “I think it is important for both sides, obviously you
cannot neglect the issue of terrorism, but if we can establish
cooperation against terrorism we can add to the building of ties rather
than have to subtract from it.”
Even as India-Pakistan ties have been
pushed to breaking point in the wake of the Mumbai terrorist attacks,
President George W. Bush’s administration believes both sides have
managed tensions successfully.
State department spokesman Sean
McCormack said on Wednesday the U.S. has been keeping a close eye on the
situation. He said U.S. officials have been “talking to both sides, the
Pakistan side and the Indian side about managing the tensions in the
aftermath of terrorist attacks in Mumbai.”
“To this point, both sides have managed
to do that successfully, some of these troop movements notwithstanding,
both on the Indian side as well as the Pakistani side,” McCormack said.
“Thus far, each side has managed the
aftermath of Mumbai in such a way that the tensions haven’t escalated in
a way that has been unhelpful to maintaining peace and stability,” he
added.
The official said the US would like to
see “more the exchange of information about the Mumbai attacks so that
you can get to the bottom of exactly who was responsible, see the entire
plot, and hold all responsible for their actions, and make sure that in
doing so you prevent any further plots from getting to the point of
execution.”
Meanwhile, Boucher denied the Mumbai
attacks had reintroduced a hyphenation in the U.S. policy for India and
Pakistan. “I think first of all what we found is that the U.S. and India
have an enormous variety of shared interests… One of those common
interests is to end terrorism in the region and Mumbai, for the both of
us, really makes it very clear how much of a shared interest we have in
stopping terrorism,” he said.
Boucher said the dismissal of Pakistani
National Security Adviser Mahmud Ali Durrani was an “internal matter for
the Pakistani government.” Durrani was fired after he confirmed reports
that the gunman captured alive after the Mumbai attacks is a Pakistani
national.
Boucher, who recently wrapped up a
visit to India and Pakistan, said the sense he got from talking to
Pakistanis in politics, civil society and the military is that “they
understand that terrorists are a threat to Pakistan. They know they need
to find a way to eliminate that threat from Pakistani soil.” He
described US-Pakistan ties as a “very positive relationship.”
“We are working with a government that
is committed to democracy, committed to an open economy and is committed
to stabilizing Pakistan by eliminating the terrorist groups,” he said.
He admitted not all the policies in those areas have been effective.
“They have gone through simultaneous
crises on security, economics and finishing the democracy transition.
Our commitment to be there and work with them on these things is quite
clear,” Boucher said.

Ask
yourself whether I love U. On Communal Harmony
Educated are fanatic while illiterate are religious
I
often dream of social unity of Punjabis that existed before 20th
century and try to debate this issue among friends on whether is it
still possible. Often the response ‘you pursue a mirage’ and I get
silent because I find enough substance in the opposition.
Notwithstanding, I don’t know why I don’t give it up
all together? The idea keeps lingering in my mind.
I
took my lesson on communal harmony 40 years ago and today I feel my
first lesson is more realistic and relevant.
My year of birth is 1951 and I come from the border area. My school was
less than one km from Indo-Pak border. Both in the school and village
often the Muslims were subject of discussions.
Despite the bloody 1947, I would often find many people spoke in favour
of Muslims while the majority complained that they were very fanatic.
People would tell that the very religion i.e Islam advocates contempt of
non-Muslims and they are referred as kafirs.
On the our side our Hindu brothers call the Muslims ‘malechh’ an equally
a derogatory term. Our amritdhari Singhs are also equally ‘fanatic’.
They can take you to task if you are found bowing before a grave. They
have stories from history how Guru Gobind Singh ji himself was punished
by the Khalsa when he bowed before a grave.
My nephew (though senior in age to me) Budha Singh
Marar was posted as BSF inspector at border post Khasa which was only
2km from my school. My father recommended me a
student of std 8 to Budha Singh, “This boys insists on seeing some
Musalmans, help him meet one.”
Budha Singh took me to border post. Budha took 3 jawans with him and
left for ‘no-man’s land’. A jawan waved a white flag and 4 Pakistani
soldiers slowly but majestically moved through
elephant grass towards us. Budha introduced me to their commander and
told him that I was curious to see some Pakistani. It was a strange
environment. We were surrounded by elephant grass which grows up to 10
feet. But there was no sense of any insecurity in our mind. The
commander spoke Pothohari Punjabi. He asked me a lot of academic
questions. Then he encouraged me to ask some question. I asked him, what
do you think of us? Do you hate us? He was calm for some time and
replied, “You better ask your mind, you have the answer, if you love us,
we love you.”
Today when I think of communal discord, I more and more remember that
Pothohari Pathan. It is the mutual suspicion that creates hatred.
Reading 1947 also we know the all massacres
were result of rumours.
To be realistic there are references in religious scriptures that speak
against the non-believers. But the root cause of , these historical
anecdote are needed to be read in right perspective. Take the example of
Islam. I think Hazret Mohd sahib termed kafirs to such opponents (Quraish
tribe) who were hell bent to eliminate him. Also when I read Gurbani,
I find it condemns hypocrites, of any religious
belief. A pundit or a yogi might feel offended when lines critical of
pseudo yogis or pundits are referred to. In fact calls of the prophets
are against all kind of falsehood in the name of religion. The opponents
and vested interest project those statements in the colours of their
choice to raise the communal passions. I have failed to unearth any
religious statement which advocates that salvation is not possible
through the opponents’ religious path.
All I have failed to detect is some justification on
the harsh treatment of shudras the low castes of Brahmins. But then I
find a reference in Ramayan where the god Rama himself consumes leftover
(juthe) bers of Bhilni the shudra woman. I consulted a Brahmin on this
and he gave an interesting explanation to it by quoting again a shastra
the scripture that food or water vomited (ugla hua)
by shudra woman can be consumed in times of distress by a Brahmin
who is otherwise prohibited to consume anything
touched by shudra. A strange commandment indeed..
Thus the religious beliefs do have pro and against commandments ( and
contradictory ) against other communities, no doubt. The civilized world
need to devise ways to work with all this. But
unfortunately the governments all over the world have on the contrary
encouraged dissensions among various communities. I find worst kind of
hypocrisy on the part of Indian governments on this. My view is mool
mantra the guiding principle of secret agencies is to create cleavage
among communities. I wonder if some government is serious on the subject
of communal harmony. The institution of democracy, I feel, is a sworn
enemy of communal harmony.
But I find that people have been living together for centuries and
communal discord was something unknown before 20th century.
It were the British who authored the policy of Divide and Rule and all
successive governments in independent India pursued it with much more
vigour than the British themselves. To be realistic the graph of
communal disharmony is constantly souring continuously for a century. I
wonder how this was not the issue in Sikh Raj of Maharaja Ranjit Singh
whose 90% ministers were non-Sikhs. I am surprised to read history how
the Muslims tried to defend the Sikh kingdom against the invading
British.
I
squarely hold the Indian and Pakistani governments responsible for
fanaticism and communal disharmony especially the school education and
media.
I
am a Khalsa Sikh but my profession of writing (especially
archaeology) compels me to go to temples and mosques
also. On each occasion I am surprised with the presence of alien
religionists at the respective religious places. I find both Hindus and
Sikhs at the mosques and tombs and Sikhs in the temples. Sometimes I
feel perhaps more graves are worshipped in E. Punjab than W. Punjab. If
some fanatic of W. Punjab should visit E.Punjab his fanaticism will
surely vanish. It is the Sikhs who are maintaining them. Especially it
is the less privileged people who respect all religions. They are mostly
illiterate and poor. But at the same time I find they have no less
respect for their religion. I realize that it is the education which has
spoiled us and made us fanatic. This is all creation of the governments
of the day.
I am therefore compelled to think that an educated
person can’t enjoy the fruit of religion. He can at the best become
fanatic of any religious belief. This makes me a bit pessimist again.
Then again I recover my self and start hoping, ‘no it is possible
notwithstanding’. I have examples of West before me where the religion
is working well except a few incidences of London.
But the second largest Punjabi newspaper of E.Punjab ‘JagBani’ dated
Dec.23, 2008 once again raises my hopes. A journalist Mr. Surinder
Kochharh of Amritsar has brought to light a Muslim family of Lahore
which is desperately protecting a Hindu temple at Vachhowali Lahore.
When I read the story of Choudhry Rehmat Ali Gujjar of Lahore,
I curse myself for my pessimism because I realize
‘yes it is possible: Communal Harmony’.
I
have scanned this story of Rehmat Ali in Punjabi and
is available for readers at:
http://www.kartarpur.com/choudhryrehmat.htm
Today I think my first lesson on communal harmony is the ultimate key to
it. We have to remove mutual suspicions of each other.

Karrah Parsad
I
have gone through mails of the distinguished participants.
My objection is I find a negative change in the way Karrah Parsad is
prepared these days. This has taken place not only
in Punjab gurdwaras but the Delhi shrines also suffer it.
The problem being that the atta (in ghee) is too
much heated (fried) as a result of which the nutrients are lost as also
the taste. One has to be cautious while frying atta so that (1) it does
not stick to the karahi and (2) it is not heated beyond the desired
temperature level. But the problem with our gurdwaras is that they
ovearheat it. As a result of which 90% of the taste is lost.
We know up to what temperature the wheat flour can survive its food
value. Examples of our baked bread or roti are before us. Do we bake our
roti or bread to the colour we have in karah parsad? Are our rotis dark
brown? No, we are overheating it. Whereas the fact is, in case of
karahparsad every granule is directly exposed to the heated ghee. There
is imminent danger of burning of flour. Remember time factor is
important here. Guru’s house doesn’t allow hurry. ‘kahli da kam shaitan
da’
The proper way is that we should heat the floor until there is a slight
change in colour: a very light brown. Further exposure means nutrients
are lost.
I
discussed it with many people and every one agreed that taste in karah
parsad is now lost. The reason is over heating. Our
Gianis do it because (1) they are in hurry and do at full flame and (2)
they want that the product is not sticky.
They don’t know that once the ingredients are in exact proportions, the
problem of stickiness will be minimum but the taste and nutrients will
survive. What if it sticks to fingers for a moment?
Guru willing I will take the Karrah Parsad prepared at my home to SGPC
office and offer to the managers and presidents there. But I hesitate
because I think they will not spare time for such a thing. Can any body
help?

YES and absolutley correct. The Ingredients CANNOT be

imho....even in this i can "see" the EQUALITY. (
of humankind..all men are brothers..man and woman...so kion
mandah akheyeah jit jammeh rajaan.)...the Sarbatt Da Bhalla...etc.
...teachings of Guru Sahib shining out !! Perhaps that is WHY
this Karah Parshaad is SACRED and ONLY distributed AFTER being
blessed in the presence of the SGGS. (Outside of SGGS presence
it is just Halwa/Karrah/ Gaffeh..etc etc....
Karrah/Gaffeh/ Halwa can hurt some....BUT NOT Sacred Karah

wonder ??
It is a misconception. ...even if one DAILY twice a day visits

simply because the amount is so miniscule - compared to the
olden days ( 1950/s i remember receiving KP in such amounts as
overflow in both hands )..now adays one hardly receives a tiny
bit.
CUT down on outside sugars/ghee etc in your food. cut down
alcohol and control BP etc.
Guru Ka Langgar has traditionally been SIMPLE - Daal Roti with
some condiments, achaar or salad. THAT is perfectly healthy.
Its our own additions/menus/ varieties etc that are unhealthy.
All Gurdwaras should act to stop this...and REVERT to Healthy
Daal=roti langgars only.
2. Secondly while the SRM only approves Karah Parshad as
sacred food to be distributed in SGGS presence..many a time i
have seen people distributing laddoos/jalebis/ barfis/bananas/
apples/sweets etc INSTEAD of Karah parshaad. THIS should also
be stopped. ONLY KP blessed with Kirpan is worthy of
distribution in SGGS presence. Other foods that cannot be
KIRPAN BHET are not sacred/blessed. These can be distributed
OUTSIDE the Darbar sahib only. ( Dry parshad comes under this
category.... such sweet stuff is routinely distributed to
sangats that visit Gurdwaras all over Punjab. Nanaksariahs
distribnute ONLY dry sweets !! NEVER Karah Parshaad !!

There is a book called Karah
Parshad Nirnia that discusses
the preparation of Karah
Parsad.
There is a standard method of
preparing Karah Parsad. The "viidhi"
(Recipe) is given in Mahan
Kosh, but most Granthis and
Sikhs who prepare Karah
Parshad know it.
Karah Parshad needs the
following main ingriedients in
EQUAL amount by weight:
You also need water according
to the need. No other
ingredient is necessary.
You also need water that need
to be brought to a boiling
temperature and sugar needs to
be mixed in it while still
boiling. This is a short
recipe. I cannot write a
detailed message now because
it can take a long time.
I would be happy to write it
later.
There is another important
thing to remember among other
things is that when you create
the syrup (chashi or chahni)
and cook the wheat flower in
butter, the temperature of
both the chashni and cooked
wheat flour should be the same
(high) when they are mixed!
Karah parshad should be
prepared by Amritdhari Sikhs
and UTMOST care must be taken
in cleanliness of hands,
utensils and all surfaces
where it is prepared. The area
should be very very clean. The
mouth and nose of the prepared
should be covered with a piece
of cloth and the person
preparing it should be extra
careful so that no dust or
foreign matter enters the
Karah Parshad. The preparer
should have access to water
all the time to wash hands
anytime his/her hands touch
something that is not clean.
Hands should be washed with
soap and running water as many
times as necessary. A heavy
layered sarabloh Karahi is the
best to prepare Karah Parshad
with a steel or Sarabloh
Khoncha.
The fire temperature needs to
be controlled at all times.
Keeping high temperature even
for one extra minute can burn
the Karah Parshad or turn it
dark. Similarly, keeping it
too low may leave it uncooked
or with knots. One need to
watch an experienced person do
it several times before
attempting.
One should recite Gurbani
while creating Karash Parshad
and not talk anything else. If
one needs to talk, it should
be very brief and not
disruptive.
There is no such thing as
"Diet Karah Parshad." People
who desire Karash parshad, but
cannot have sugar, they should
either take "swaya gaffa" or
just take "kinka matar" (just
a real tiny bit).
The method of preparing Karah
Parsad has been prescribed for
a long time, for centuries.
People whose have a medical
condition should avoid Karah
Parshad or take it in just
miniscule quantiy.

Dear Sadh-Sangat ji,
This is the first time ever that I have read (heard) of honey
substituting
Sugar. This is not right. No honey or sweetners other than
sugar should be
used to prepare Krrah Parshad. Krrah Parshad that is offered
to the Guru.
Introduction
Krrah Parshad is called "Tihauli Da Parshad" or "Tihaval Da
Parshad." Both
mean three equal parts - flour, Ghee (butter oil), sugar and
water three
times. We have to be careful not to use salted butter. No
fresh or dry fruit, or
anything else should be added to it. It should be taken as
blessing of God and
eaten with Faith in His Kindness. No greed in eating. A little
amount of
Parshad is not going to harm anyone, I am sure. A few days
back a Gurmukh has
already given its preparation in detail.
Preparation
Water and sugar are mixed and boiled to dissolve and make
syrup (Chashni).
This syrup is kept aside.
Flour is lightly browned (like homemade cookies) in butter
oil, on low fire.
When flour is ready (browned), keeping pan (Krrahi. It should
be of iron) on
the stove, hot syrup is very gradually added to it along with
stirring it
briskly with iron ladle (Khurpa - scraper).
Long kitchen gloves and apron should be worn to protect hands
and arms from
any hot portions of Parshad flying out. Stir it till it is
just thick. Remove
pan from stove, keep aside and cover it with washed (clean)
white cloth
(colored cloth can stain Parshad). It will thicken further as
it will cool down.
Only healthy persons with healthy hands should make or
distribute Parshad.
Precautions
When preparing it, hands washed with soap and water, touch
nothing else
except pot and pan for Making Parshad and ingredients to
prepare it, head
covered, recitation of Gurbani - Japji Sahib, Shabads, Mool
Mantar, Waheguru
Waheguru, Sloks , Swayas etc. and no talk. Dhyan - eyes should
be focused on
Parshad. None should touch it without washing hands with soap
and water.
Distribution
You have prepared this Parshad for the Guru.
No portion out of it should be given to anyone else.
It must not be distributed without washing hands with soap and
water or bare
headed.
It should be distributed only after offering it to the Guru,
Ardas, passing
Kirpan through it.
Naming Five Pyaras, their portions of Parshad are taken out
and kept aside.
This portion is either mixed back in to main Parshad, if five
Amritdharis
(Sabat Soorat) are not there.
Otherwise, if they are present, it is given to them. Or it is
kept aside
for emergency (Parshad finished and new visitors come).
Distributors should not speak without covering their mouths
with cloth (mask
on mouth).
I strongly recommend that Parshad should be distributed with a
spoon
(ladle). I may do it at home, but have not been able to apply
this to the Gurdwara
here. Our Bhais keep stuck to their usual routines.
Leftover Parshad
Left over Parshad cannot be offered to the Guru again.
It can be added to fresh Parshad after Ardas for it,
Kirpan-Bhet and taking
out share of Panj Pyaras.
Similary, after this basic discipline of Parshad, regular
Krrah Parshad, or
Pinni-Parshad from other historical Gurdwaras (five Takhts
etc.) can be added
to it.
As a usual discipline Parshad is not re-heated.
With regards,
Kulwant Singh Khokhar.
USA.

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa
Waheguru ji ki Fateh
Bibi Sukhmander Kaur Ji,
Thanks for providing the illustrated recipe. This is really
nice. There is a small book (100 pages or so) called "Karah
Parshad Maryada Nirnai" by Giani Harbans Singh which provides
a detailed description of Karah Parshad, its significance, how
to prepare it, and distribute it, etc.
I just heard only for the first time that some people prepare
Karah using honey and call it Guru Ka Parshad! Maybe I am too
ignorant, but I think it is improper to call it "Parshad"
because the honey it uses comes from the mouth of the bee
which it sucks from the flowers and deposits it in the honey
comb by reversing the sucking process! It does not sound very
sacred to me!
Karah Parshad recipe does not call for honey or approve of any
alternate method of sweetening the Karah Parshad! It is always
brown sugar or refined sugar (mostly refined sugar). No
Gurdwara ever uses honey to prepare Karah Parshad to the best
of my knowledge.

Here is an illustrated recipe guide for making karah prashad
http://sikhism. about.com/ od/gurugranthsah ib/ss/Prashad. htm
I know some folks make prashad with honey and call it guru
prashad in ardas.
Personally I believe we should stick to the original recipe
and if someone cannot have fat or sugar they should take just
a grain like we put into the mouth of a nursing babe. Cannot
harm them and get the blessing. I know a woman who doesn’t eat
dairy wheat or sugar and often just eats just raw foods who
just takes but a pinch of prashad. The amount of sugar or fat
in a pinch of prashad is unlikely to harm anyone. It’s not
like peanut allergy where ½ peanut can kill someone.

Sudhir sahib!
non-violence is a methodology that needs to be adopted by the agitating
movements the world over, no doubt. But this is what you can exhibit
before sensible governments. The British were a sensible lot. The same
thing can't apply to the present regimes in India.
What kind of non-violent movement was that which
resulted into the massacre of 10 lac people and migration of one crore
people. Do we have a parallel in Human History?
Gandhi was an astute politician. He knew what weapon would be most
appropriate in his fight. Gandhi from the core of his heart, was not
sincere to the principle of non-violence, is born out from the fact that
when the Pathan guerrillas entered Kashmir in 1947, Gandhi approved
violence as a means to push them out.
But non-violence as methodology needs to be encouraged, no doubt.

Dear Mr. Saini,
I appreciate your frank response.
I can see the violence in the form of anger and frustration
that you have. I am sure this is the result of the violence
that is increasing in the society at all times.
And, this, I would say is the most important reason that we
adopt Nonviolence as the way out.
I am sure you are open to hearing the other person's view
point just as we are open to hear you with patience and
respect.
We take Gandhi as one of the pioneers of Non-violence as a
methodology against violence and we strongly feel that this
methodology needs to be developed further for the growth of
human being.
We need to see Gandhi in this aspect and develop this
methodology further.
I am not interested in taking this discussion on the subject
of Gandhi, since I am not having in-depth knowledge of his
life. What is important for me and my friends is the aspect of
Non-violence.
When the 1984 riots took place and when the recent mumbai
violence took place - all of them very very unfortunate events
- we were and are working to organsie people at grass root
levels against violence. We will remain uniting people without
any discrimination, till we have overcome violence from within
us and from around us.
We will continue doing this work, because it brings joy to all
who work in this direction and that is an achievement shared
by nearly 5 million volunteers across the world.
I am sure we will discuss these aspects more and more, with
mutual respect, since we both share the goal of happiness and
peace for people.
with my deep regards,
sudhir

Dear Fellow Indian Citizen,
The terror act in Mumbai (& the earlier bomb blasts
across India) have exposed the world of Violence and its
relation to the world of Corruption.
After the Mumbai incident, lakhs of people, from all
walks of life have shown their anger with the way things
are.
They have shown their opposition to Violence;
They have shown their deep and clear interest in
Non-violence as the only way out;
They have demanded Peace through Nonviolence;
People are very clear that Terrorism arises due to
Corruption and Violence in the system.
Violence has many expressions.
External violence manifests
as :
Physical Violence (Mumbai like incidents, physical
violation of a victim, war, killings etc.);
Economic Violence (Poverty, Unemployment, Exploitation
etc.)
Religious Violence (when people are divided and
discriminated as per their religious beliefs and incited
to fight and kill each other)
Racial Violence ((when people are divided and
discriminated as per their caste/race and incited to
fight and kill each other)
Gender Violence (Violence and discrimination against
women)
Psychological Violence (spreading fear, negative values
and controlling people through that)
Moral Violence (Those who do nothing against the
violence become an accomplice)
Internal Violence manifests
as :Our fears, hatred, frustrations, insecurity, enmity,
resentments, etc. negative feelings.
A person having Internal
Violence is likely to committ external violence;
External violence causes
Internal violence in the victim.
Internal & External violence
are connected with each other. Both need to be overcome
simultaneously and as a process that keeps going on over
a period of time.
The time has come for
the common citizens to say "Enough is Enough" and take
charge of the society.
Criminalisation of the
Politics by Corrupt people has vitiated the atmosphere
and the result is ever-increasing violence for common
people. There is no safety-security of life. there is no
education, no jobs, no health, no transportation, not
even toilet facility for more than 80% of the
population, Inspite of so much talk of so much work
being done for last 60 years.
Humanists believe that Human being has stopped evolving
as Human. Most of the people are after money either as
their ever-increasing- hunger or to secure the next meal
which is not certain in today's conditions for most
people.
Free Education for all, that is the aim of our
Constitution is not met;
Jobs for all is not possible today;
Free Health facilities for all are not on the horizon;
Housing for all is not even a distant dream.
What is going on ?
Where is the India that was dreamt by Gandhi, Bose,
Bhagat and thousands of others who laid their lives for
the positive future of Millions of Indiana ? What are we
ding for it ? What do we need to do about it ?
Its time, we pause, think and take the next step.
Humanists believe that if
Honest, common citizens come to power, things can
change. If Politics can be raised to the level of the
best social work, things can change.
For this, the Humanists have
taken the mission to cleanse politics and provide a
Government consisting of ordinary citizens who are
honest, who are not criminals, who are not
industrialists' controlled persons, who are not
belonging to any particular family, religion or caste,
but people who are just plain simple Indians and Human
beings.
The Humanist Party of India,
formed in 1984 by such Humanists has been working at
grass-roots, organising and clarifying people on the
Humanist possibilities of India is now organising itself
to field candidates across India and invites common
people to come together and work to manage the country
by themselves.
Humanists believe that
we can have the following aims (some of the points of
Humanist Manifesto) met within a period of 5 years, by
diverting less than 15% of the armament budget :
1. Free and Uniform Education for all, atleast upto
Class XII;
2. Free Health facility for all through AIIMS like
hospitals built in every district, linked to a
functioning primary health centre everywhere;
3. Housing for all;
4. Job for all and a reasonable unemployment pay to
those who cannot be given jobs immediately;
5. Profit to all Farmers on their produce and
Comprehensive Crop-insurance;
6. Transportation and Communication to be given to 100%
of population with comfort and on affordable rates on
no-profit basis by the Government.
7. Upper age-limit for all Elected Political posts
(President, Prime Minister, Minister, Chief Minister,
etc.) to be maximum 70 years.
8. No one can occupy an elected political post
(President, Prime Minister, Minister, Chief Minister,
etc.) more than twice.
9. Referendum by people on every major policy before a
final decision can be taken.
10. Every Elected member will be re-confirmed by the
voters every 6 months.
11. Voters will have right to recall their elected
representative at any time.
(Technology to conduct such quick votes exists at very
cheap rates today and will be used for this purpose,
thus bringing in Direct & Real Democracy in practice.)
12. Unbiased discussion with all arms-using group and
separatists tendencies to ensure that all citizens of
India will get dignified life immediately, thus bringing
them all to mainstream of life and socio-political
activity.
13. Respect for all cultures and religions without
making them the point of differences and discrimination.
14. Comprehensive Peace agreements with all neighbouring
countries and proportionate disarmament of conventional
as well as nuclear arms with a time-frame target.
This way, we are building the Humanist Manifesto for the
country with wide consultation of people. Such a
manifesto, becoming the basis of next Government will
end the menace of Cast-religion differences, highlighted
further by reservations. Reservations will become null &
void if education, health and jobs are secured for all,
ensuring quality of life and giving them equal
opportunities of growth.
The most important thing is for
common-honest citizens to come forward to run and manage
their own country, treating it as their own family
affair, giving it the utmost priority.
It is time we take the next step.
We invite you to begin
a new life, not just for yourself but also for the whole
nation.
Take the pledge for
Nonviolence and begin contributing in the noble task of
nation-building as an active participant of the mission.
Let's get in touch and begin working together.

taken, starting with the pledge and then after 21 Dec

Lo
and Behold! SGPC Rats are going to bell RSS Cat
Sikhs connection with India is a tale of broken promises. Before India
became independent the Congress leaders advanced rosy promises to Sikhs.
But immediately after winning independence Sikhs were told point blank,
“Now circumstances are changed.” However Pundit Nehru assured Master
Tara Singh that the Indian Govt will not interfere in the religious
affairs of Sikhs.
But if we watch the working of SGPC carefully we come to conclusion that
all important decisions are made by the Govt agents in a very concealed
manner. The Govt functionaries obtain orders from RSS think tank. To
advance their agenda secretly the Govt has encouraged corruption in the
SGPC bureaucracy as a result of which the corrupt officials are ready to
bow to any extent and are thus the blackmailed officials are handy
tools to implement the secret agenda.
Recently this has been proved in the case of Sehajdhari issue when the
affidavit submitted before the High Court was found to be in
contravention of the official SGPC policy.
Now when the RSS hand is exposed, they are after some scape goat. And
surely they will find. They would pick any officer of SGPC and he would
confess it or else he knows his worst deeds will be exposed. The
employess also know how they will come back with the blessing of RSS as
it happened in case Dalmegh Singh who immediately started suffixing
caste name after he was promoted to secretary. Because he knows RSS
likes caste factor every where.
Here are a few news cutting. And in the end a satire composed by me. -BSG,

Panel order on Dalmegh stayed
Our High Court Correspondent
Chandigarh, February 25
The Punjab and Haryana High Court today stayed the operation of the
February 21 order of the Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission (SGJC)
restraining Mr Dalmegh Singh and Mr Major Singh from working as
secretary and assistant secretary of the SGPC, respectively.
Taking up a petition filed by Mr Dalmegh Singh and Mr Major Singh
challenging the validity of the interim order passed by the
newly-reconstituted commission, the Bench of Mr Justice J.S. Khehar and
Mr Justice S.N. Aggarwal issued notice to March 10.
In their petition, they have also alleged that the SGJC committed wilful
contempt of court by issuing such an order.
The three-member SGJC had, on the very first day of joining, restrained
the two from functioning for allegedly causing loss of six gold spades
and silver bowls during the kar seva of the holy tank of the Golden
Temple .
The case will now come up on March 10.

Bibi Jagir Kaur disqualified as SGPC chief
Varinder Walia
Tribune News Service
Amritsar, July 19
In a landmark order, first such decision after the enactment of the Sikh
Gurdwara Act, 1925, the Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission (SGJC) today
disqualified Bibi Jagir Kaur as SGPC chief for five years.
Passing the decree with costs, the SGJC ordered Bibi Jagir Kaur to
deposit Rs 2.55 crore in the SGPC funds along with 9 per cent per annum
interest from the date of filing the petition till its realisation. The
order reads, “she is removed from the membership of SGPC and
consequently from its presidentship. She is further disqualified to
become member of the SGPC or its executive body for the period of five
years”.
However, Bibi Jagir Kaur said she would comment on the order after
getting a copy of the same. However, Prof H.S. Bolina, a close confidant
of the SGPC chief alleged the ‘SGJC was biased’. Earlier, Bibi Jagir
Kaur had openly challenged the jurisdiction of SGJC when she was
directed to remove Mr Dalmegh Singh as secretary SGPC in a case.

secretaries on warpath
Varinder Walia
Tribune News Service
Amritsar, August 7
The missive, written by Mr Raghbir Singh, one of the four secretaries,
to the SGPC chief, Bibi Jagir Kaur, has brought to light internal strife
within the SGPC, raising many eyebrows in the Panthic circles. A copy
had been sent to the Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission.
Levelling serious charges against Mr Dalmegh Singh, another secretary,
Mr Raghbir Singh has said the former had been misguiding SGPC
presidents with a view to getting undue favour, including promotions.
The communication alleged that certain red entries in the personal
file of Mr Dalmegh Singh could be enough proof of his handling of the
administration in the past.
Mr Raghbir Singh alleged that following serious reports, the then SGPC
chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra, had transferred Mr Dalmegh Singh to Mata
Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib. He said he was senior to Mr Dalmegh
Singh, who remained his subordinate for many years.

CHHEHARTA:Dazzling
Durbar, But Guru Silent
See Chheharta images at:
www.kartarpur.com/arch/chheharta.htm
Chheharta is a suburb of Amritsar also founded again by the son of
founder of Amritsar. With the expansion of city of Amritsar, Chheharta
which is about 10 km west, is now contiguous part of Amritsar. Chheharta
is named after Chhe (six) harta (Persian wheels) i.e the giant well
which was sunk by Guru Arjan Dev to meet the irrigation and drinking
water demand of the residents. Till about 15 years ago Chheharta was a
bustling industrial town and was a sub hub of textile and woolen
industry which have since been shifted to neighbouring states. The trade
unionist couple Mr. Satya Pal Dang and his wife who ruined the industry
have been awarded with second and third highest civilian award Padma
Vibhushan and Padma Shri respectively by the Govt of India.
The Chheharta main shrine has been recently renovated by a Karsewa Baba.
I visited Chheharta shrine on 24-12-08 along with my guest Jarnail Singh
of UK. Jarnail was damn impressed with the marble, masonry and glass
work done at main gurdwara sahib the Chheharta.
Then there was a sumptuous langar and we ate to our fill.
I have been critical of the karsewa wale babas for the ruin of our
sacred antiquity but now had to remain silent before the praising
gestures of Jarnail Singh.
When we were leaving the shrine my wife who seldom agrees with my
radical views lost no opportunity and said, “You always are critical of
the Karsewa Babas, what you have to say today?”
I told that I have no remorse in telling that they are worst of the
burchhas. (burchha is a Punjabi term for ‘enthusiastic but stupid
people’) Jarnail Singh protested at this term and reminded me of the
Guru’s injunction of defamation of a saint (Sant ki ninda) in Sukhmani .
I tried to explain that they were not saints but extortionists and that
it has become a profession in Punjab. I tried to explain how they have
ruined the antiquity of Sikhism. But all in vain. My critical wife had
got support from Jarnail our guest from UK. I became silent ultimately.
I knew everybody can’t have sense of archaeology.
However on one point I made on the spot gain. I asked Jarnail, look you
have been to Gurdwara i.e Guru’s door. But did you hear the Guru?
Jarnail asked me to elaborate.
I said, the Guru has been silenced and the game of money is on. There no
doubt was a continuous flow of sangat the devotees. Why there was no
keertan? Why at least they could not recite Gurbani from Guru Granth
Sahib? Why there was no Dhadhi to sing praises of God? Where have the
Katha wachak the Sikh story tellers gone?
We had seen very healthy kind of our lazy granthis around. The langar
was there.
Jarnail explained, “But you cant have preaching all the 24 hours?” I
said why not when the man power is available? I said you seek permission
and I arrange preachers for day time also and that they will do
preaching for free because the Sangat accommodates them. I said what a
preacher wants is numbers and the numbers were in plenty here.
Jarnail said perhaps you are right because 20 years ago when he visited
Chheharta he found the audience was spell bound by a dhadhi and he was
singing the ballad of Sixth Nanak.
I explained him how the RSS which has infiltrated into SGPC is not
allowing the preaching activity. Sikh history telling in Gurdwaras is
virtually banned.
Jarnail agreed with me on ‘But The Guru is Silent’
But he continued to have dissent on Karsewa Babas. But today’s incidence
gave me tremendous support and Jarnail had to say, “Bhaaji you are
right.”
The incidence
Today is Christmas and a Govt holiday. At 9 am a Mahindra Jeep with loud
speaker installed on it lands in our colony the Diamond Avenue at
Majitha Road, Amritsar. They announce with roar, “Karsewa of the birth
place of Baba Naud Singh is on, do participate in it for salvation of
your life.” They move from door to door.
Very soon we find our neighbour Kashmir Singh Khalsa is confronting
them. We hear hot arguments. I also go and enquire. Kashmir Singh
whispers in my ear that they were the pseudo-Karsewa Baba and were
defrauding the innocent Sangat and that they belonged to Dashmesh Avenue
colony near Bye Pass Majitha Road.
I intervened. I started questioning the head of the Jatha of 4 that was
seeking donations. The Jathedar explained me that they were seeking
donations because they are to construct a memorial for Baba Naudh Singh
at his village near Tarn Taran. I said please explain me more and I will
donate my till phul. He said, “Look there is dire need of ‘prachaar’ for
the panth and we will do it from the new place to be built.”
I said you are preachers but how many of you do daily nitnem the
prayers. The young sewadar said, “I do satnam waheguru only.” I asked
are you illiterate. “No I am under matric,” replied the sewadar. The
jathedar said he did nitnem regularly. I said what are the baanis you
know by heart. He replied none. Kashmir Singh asked, “I hope at least
you know 5 pauris of Japuji by heart?” The jathedar said, “No sir.”
Kashmir Singh asked, “Just name what are the baanis of nitnem?” “Japuji
sahib, Sukhmani sahib, and….(no further reply)” said jathedar.
Kashmir Singh sarcastically remarked to me, “Goraya these are the kind
of your preachers you were to donate Rs. 5.” I said they are not mine,
they belonged to Jarnail Singh our guest from UK.
And the jathedar shouted the driver, “Switch off the loud speaker and
come back.”
Conclusion: Today we see basically two type of activity in the name of
religion i.e construction and langar. And the result is Sikhs have
become fat and are busy only in building magnificent kothis.
Psychologically the Sikhs are down in dhendi kala and many because of
worry and tension have become patients of blood pressure, sugar etc. The
glorious Sikh is now no longer in charhdi kala. |

I often dream of social unity of Punjabis that existed before 20th
century and try to debate this issue among friends on whether is it
still possible. Often the response ‘you pursue a mirage’ and I get
silent because I find enough substance in the opposition.
Notwithstanding, I don’t know why I don’t give it up all together? The
idea keeps lingering in my mind.
I took my lesson on communal harmony 40 years ago and today I feel my
first lesson is more realistic and relevant.
My year of birth is 1951 and I come from the border area. My school was
less than one km from Indo-Pak border. Both in the school and village
often the Muslims were subject of discussions. Despite the bloody 1947,
I would often find many people spoke in favour of Muslims while the
majority complained that they were very fanatic. People would tell that
the very religion i.e Islam advocates contempt of non-Muslims and they
are referred as kafirs.
My nephew (though senior in age to me) Budha Singh Marar was posted as
BSF inspector at border post Khasa which was only 2km from my school. My
father recommended me a student of std 8 to Budha Singh, “This boys
insists on seeing some Musalmans, help him meet one.”
Budha Singh took me to border post. Budha took 3 jawans with him and
left for ‘no-man’s land’. A jawan waved a white flag and 4 Pakistani
soldiers slowly but majestically moved through elephant grass towards
us. Budha introduced me to their commander and told him that I was
curious to see some Pakistani. It was a strange environment. We were
surrounded by elephant grass which grows up to 10 feet. But there was no
sense of any insecurity in our mind. The commander spoke Pothohari
Punjabi. He asked me a lot of academic questions. Then he encouraged me
to ask some question. I asked him, what do you think of us? Do you hate
us? He was calm for some time and replied, “You better ask your mind,
you have the answer, if you love us, we love you.”
Today when I think of communal discord, I more and more remember that
Pothohari Pathan. It is the mutual suspicion that creates hatred.
Reading 1947 also we know the all massacres were result of rumours.
Also when I read Gurbani, I
find it condemns hypocrites, of any religious belief. A pundit or a yogi
might feel offended when lines critical of pseudo yogis or pundits are
referred to. In fact calls of the prophets are against all kind of
falsehood in the name of religion. The opponents and vested interest
project those statements in the colours of their choice to raise the
communal passions. I have failed to unearth any religious statement
which advocates that salvation is not possible through the opponents’
religious path.
All I have failed to detect is some justification on the harsh treatment
of shudras the low castes of Brahmins. But then I find a reference in
Ramayan where the god Rama himself consumes leftover (juthe) bers of
Bhilni the shudra woman. I consulted a Brahmin on this and he gave an
interesting explanation to it by quoting again a shastra the scripture
that food or water vomited (ugla hua) by shudra woman can be consumed in
times of distress by a Brahmin who is otherwise prohibited to consume
anything touched by shudra. A strange commandment indeed..
Thus the religious beliefs do have pro and against commandments ( and
contradictory ) against other communities, no doubt. The civilized world
need to devise ways to work with all this. But unfortunately the
governments all over the world have on the contrary encouraged
dissensions among various communities. I find worst kind of hypocrisy on
the part of Indian governments on this. My view is mool mantra the
guiding principle of secret agencies is to create cleavage among
communities. I wonder if some government is serious on the subject of
communal harmony. The institution of democracy, I feel, is a sworn enemy
of communal harmony.
But I find that people have been living together for centuries and
communal discord was something unknown before 20th century. It were the
British who authored the policy of Divide and Rule and all successive
governments in independent India pursued it with much more vigour than
the British themselves. To be realistic the graph of communal disharmony
is constantly souring continuously for a century. I wonder how this was
not the issue in Sikh Raj of Maharaja Ranjit Singh whose 90% ministers
were non-Sikhs. I am surprised to read history how the Muslims tried to
defend the Sikh kingdom against the invading British.
I squarely hold the Indian and Pakistani governments responsible for
fanaticism and communal disharmony especially the school education and
media.
I am a Khalsa Sikh but my profession of writing (especially archaeology)
compels me to go to temples and mosques also. On each occasion I am
surprised with the presence of alien religionists at the respective
religious places. I find both Hindus and Sikhs at the mosques and tombs
and Sikhs in the temples. Sometimes I feel perhaps more graves are
worshipped in E. Punjab than W. Punjab. If some fanatic of W. Punjab
should visit E.Punjab his fanaticism will surely vanish. It is the Sikhs
who are maintaining them. Especially it is the less privileged people
who respect all religions. They are mostly illiterate and poor. But at
the same time I find they have no less respect for their religion. I
realize that it is the education which has spoiled us and made us
fanatic. This is all creation of the governments of the day.
I am therefore compelled to think that an educated person can’t enjoy
the fruit of religion. He can at the best become fanatic of any
religious belief. This makes me a bit pessimist again. Then again I
recover my self and start hoping, ‘no it is possible notwithstanding’. I
have examples of West before me where the religion is working well
except a few incidences of London.
When I read the story of Choudhry Rehmat Ali Gujjar of Lahore, I curse
myself for my pessimism because I realize ‘yes it is possible: Communal
Harmony’.
I have scanned this story of Rehmat Ali in Punjabi and is available for
readers at:
http://www.kartarpur.com/choudhryrehmat.htm
Today I think my first lesson on communal harmony is the ultimate key to
it. We have to remove mutual suspicions of each other.

Karah
Parshad how to make it.
I have gone through mails of the distinguished participants.
My objection is I find a negative change in the way Karrah Parsad is
prepared these days. This has taken place not only in Punjab gurdwaras
but the Delhi shrines also suffer it.
The problem being that the atta (in ghee) is too much heated (fried) as
a result of which the nutrients are lost as also the taste. One has to
be cautious while frying atta so that (1) it does not stick to the
karahi and (2) it is not heated beyond the desired temperature level.
But the problem with our gurdwaras is that they ovearheat it. As a
result of which 90% of the taste is lost.
Further exposure means nutrients
are lost.
I discussed it with many people and every one agreed that taste in karah
parsad is now lost. The reason is over heating. Our Gianis do it because
(1) they are in hurry and do at full flame and (2) they want that the
product is not sticky.

The Ingredients CANNOT be reduced in any
manner as per SRM. The Original recipe of this EQUAL AMOUNT comes from
the times of the GURUS.
imho....even in this i can "see" the EQUALITY. ( of humankind..all men
are brothers..man and woman...so kion mandah akheyeah jit jammeh rajaan.)...the
Sarbatt Da Bhalla...etc. ...teachings of Guru Sahib shining out !!
Perhaps that is WHY this Karah Parshaad is SACRED and ONLY distributed
AFTER being blessed in the presence of the SGGS. (Outside of SGGS
presence it is just Halwa/Karrah/ Gaffeh..etc etc....
Karrah/Gaffeh/ Halwa can hurt some....BUT NOT Sacred Karah parshaad -
Gift from GURU JI to His Beloved Sangat. Dont we even have that tiny bit
of shardha/faith in Guru ji ?? I wonder ??
It is a misconception. ...even if one DAILY twice a day visits a
Gurdwara and eats a little bit of KP...imho his blood pressure/diabetes/
whatever may not be that badly affected - simply because the amount is
so miniscule - compared to the olden days ( 1950/s i remember receiving
KP in such amounts as overflow in both hands )..now adays one hardly
receives a tiny bit.
CUT down on outside sugars/ghee etc in your food. cut down alcohol and
control BP etc.
Guru Ka Langgar has traditionally been SIMPLE - Daal Roti with some
condiments, achaar or salad. THAT is perfectly healthy.
Its our own additions/menus/ varieties etc that are unhealthy. All
Gurdwaras should act to stop this...and REVERT to Healthy Daal=roti
langgars only.
2. Secondly while the SRM only approves Karah Parshad as sacred food to
be distributed in SGGS presence..many a time i have seen people
distributing laddoos/jalebis/ barfis/bananas/ apples/sweets etc INSTEAD
of Karah parshaad. THIS should also be stopped. ONLY KP blessed with
Kirpan is worthy of distribution in SGGS presence. Other foods that
cannot be KIRPAN BHET are not sacred/blessed. These can be distributed
OUTSIDE the Darbar sahib only. ( Dry parshad comes under this
category.... such sweet stuff is routinely distributed to sangats that
visit Gurdwaras all over Punjab. Nanaksariahs distribnute ONLY dry
sweets !! NEVER Karah Parshaad !!

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
There is a book called Karah Parshad Nirnia that discusses the
preparation of Karah Parsad.
There is a standard method of preparing Karah Parsad. The "viidhi"
(Recipe) is given in Mahan Kosh, but most Granthis and Sikhs who prepare
Karah Parshad know it.
Karah Parshad needs the following main ingriedients in EQUAL amount by
weight:
1. Sugar
2. Butter
3. Atta (wheat flour)
You also need water according to the need. No other ingredient is
necessary.
You also need water that need to be brought to a boiling temperature and
sugar needs to be mixed in it while still boiling. This is a short
recipe. I cannot write a detailed message now because it can take a long
time. I would be happy to write it later.
There is another important thing to remember among other things is that
when you create the syrup (chashi or chahni) and cook the wheat flower
in butter, the temperature of both the chashni and cooked wheat flour
should be the same (high) when they are mixed! Karah parshad should be
prepared by Amritdhari Sikhs and UTMOST care must be taken in
cleanliness of hands, utensils and all surfaces where it is prepared.
The area should be very very clean. The mouth and nose of the prepared
should be covered with a piece of cloth and the person preparing it
should be extra careful so that no dust or foreign matter enters the
Karah Parshad. The preparer should have access to water all the time to
wash hands anytime his/her hands touch something that is not clean.
Hands should be washed with soap and running water as many times as
necessary. A heavy layered sarabloh Karahi is the best to prepare Karah
Parshad with a steel or Sarabloh Khoncha.
The fire temperature needs to be controlled at all times. Keeping high
temperature even for one extra minute can burn the Karah Parshad or turn
it dark. Similarly, keeping it too low may leave it uncooked or with
knots. One need to watch an experienced person do it several times
before attempting.
One should recite Gurbani while creating Karash Parshad and not talk
anything else. If one needs to talk, it should be very brief and not
disruptive.
There is no such thing as "Diet Karah Parshad." People who desire Karash
parshad, but cannot have sugar, they should either take "swaya gaffa" or
just take "kinka matar" (just a real tiny bit).
The method of preparing Karah Parsad has been prescribed for a long
time, for centuries.
People whose have a medical condition should avoid Karah Parshad or take
it in just miniscule quantiy.

sat sri akal,
this is not a test topic but a real question. we all have to decide what
to do here.
Some people say to use less fat butter to make it , some say less sugar.
some say they have problem with sugar level in the blood, use fruit
sugar. can we use other kind of sweetness ?
an old lady cant have sugar at all. so can we cook a small portion with
no sugar or it has to be sweet ?
what does the sikh religon code say about it.
ofcourse people at home eat more fat than here, i know that but for the
sake of the old couples suffering with some health problems, i ask your
comments.
please tell us(me, others).
in the langar we dont allow chilli or hot spices because it upsets
stomach, heart burns, causes acidity, sikh religon has many quotes of
healthy body.
we do use spices to a minimum level also very little salt.
we wait the guidance of elderly sikhs. thank you from all of us here.
Thank You

Dear Sadh-Sangat ji,
This is the first time ever that I have read (heard) of honey
substituting
Sugar. This is not right. No honey or sweetners other than sugar should
be
used to prepare Krrah Parshad. Krrah Parshad that is offered to the
Guru.
Introduction
Krrah Parshad is called "Tihauli Da Parshad" or "Tihaval Da Parshad."
Both
mean three equal parts - flour, Ghee (butter oil), sugar and water three
times. We have to be careful not to use salted butter. No fresh or dry
fruit, or
anything else should be added to it. It should be taken as blessing of
God and
eaten with Faith in His Kindness. No greed in eating. A little amount of
Parshad is not going to harm anyone, I am sure. A few days back a
Gurmukh has
already given its preparation in detail.
Preparation
Water and sugar are mixed and boiled to dissolve and make syrup (Chashni).
This syrup is kept aside.
Flour is lightly browned (like homemade cookies) in butter oil, on low
fire.
When flour is ready (browned), keeping pan (Krrahi. It should be of
iron) on
the stove, hot syrup is very gradually added to it along with stirring
it
briskly with iron ladle (Khurpa - scraper).
Long kitchen gloves and apron should be worn to protect hands and arms
from
any hot portions of Parshad flying out. Stir it till it is just thick.
Remove
pan from stove, keep aside and cover it with washed (clean) white cloth
(colored cloth can stain Parshad). It will thicken further as it will
cool down.
Only healthy persons with healthy hands should make or distribute
Parshad.
Precautions
When preparing it, hands washed with soap and water, touch nothing else
except pot and pan for Making Parshad and ingredients to prepare it,
head
covered, recitation of Gurbani - Japji Sahib, Shabads, Mool Mantar,
Waheguru
Waheguru, Sloks , Swayas etc. and no talk. Dhyan - eyes should be
focused on
Parshad. None should touch it without washing hands with soap and water.
Distribution
You have prepared this Parshad for the Guru.
No portion out of it should be given to anyone else.
It must not be distributed without washing hands with soap and water or
bare
headed.
It should be distributed only after offering it to the Guru, Ardas,
passing
Kirpan through it.
Naming Five Pyaras, their portions of Parshad are taken out and kept
aside.
This portion is either mixed back in to main Parshad, if five
Amritdharis
(Sabat Soorat) are not there.
Otherwise, if they are present, it is given to them. Or it is kept aside
for emergency (Parshad finished and new visitors come).
Distributors should not speak without covering their mouths with cloth
(mask
on mouth).
I strongly recommend that Parshad should be distributed with a spoon
(ladle). I may do it at home, but have not been able to apply this to
the Gurdwara
here. Our Bhais keep stuck to their usual routines.
Leftover Parshad
Left over Parshad cannot be offered to the Guru again.
It can be added to fresh Parshad after Ardas for it, Kirpan-Bhet and
taking
out share of Panj Pyaras.
Similary, after this basic discipline of Parshad, regular Krrah Parshad,
or
Pinni-Parshad from other historical Gurdwaras (five Takhts etc.) can be
added
to it.
As a usual discipline Parshad is not re-heated.
With regards,
Kulwant Singh Khokhar.

Bibi Sukhmander Kaur Ji,
Thanks for providing the illustrated recipe. This is really nice. There
is a small book (100 pages or so) called "Karah Parshad Maryada Nirnai"
by Giani Harbans Singh which provides a detailed description of Karah
Parshad, its significance, how to prepare it, and distribute it, etc.
I just heard only for the first time that some people prepare Karah
using honey and call it Guru Ka Parshad! Maybe I am too ignorant, but I
think it is improper to call it "Parshad" because the honey it uses
comes from the mouth of the bee which it sucks from the flowers and
deposits it in the honey comb by reversing the sucking process! It does
not sound very sacred to me!
Karah Parshad recipe does not call for honey or approve of any alternate
method of sweetening the Karah Parshad! It is always brown sugar or
refined sugar (mostly refined sugar). No Gurdwara ever uses honey to
prepare Karah Parshad to the best of my knowledge.

Here is an illustrated recipe guide for making karah prashad
http://sikhism. about.com/ od/gurugranthsah ib/ss/Prashad. htm
I know some folks make prashad with honey and call it guru prashad in
ardas.
Personally I believe we should stick to the original recipe and if
someone cannot have fat or sugar they should take just a grain like we
put into the mouth of a nursing babe. Cannot harm them and get the
blessing. I know a woman who doesn’t eat dairy wheat or sugar and often
just eats just raw foods who just takes but a pinch of prashad. The
amount of sugar or fat in a pinch of prashad is unlikely to harm anyone.
It’s not like peanut allergy where ½ peanut can kill someone.

Revelation on Swiss Bank Accounts "who can save india no one knows where
tax payer money is going "
Revelation on Swiss Bank Accounts
This is so shocking . . . . . wish black money deposits was an Olympics
event . . . . . India would have won a gold medal hands down.
The second best Russia has 4 times lesser deposit. US is not even there
in the counting in top five !! India has more money in Swiss banks than
all the other countries combined !!!!
Recently, due to international pressure, Swiss govt. agreed to disclose
the names of the account holders only if the respective govts formally
asked for it. Indian govt. is not asking for the details . .
. . no marks for guessing why ????
We need to start a movement to pressurise the govt. to do so !!
This is perhaps the only way, and a golden opportunity, to expose the
high and mighty and weed out corruption !!
Please read on . . . . . and forward to all the honest Indians to . .. .
. like somebody is forwarding to you . . . . . and build a ground-swell
of support for action !!
Is India poor, who says? Ask Swiss banks With personal account deposit
bank of $1500 billion in foreign reserve which have been
misappropriated, an amount 13 times larger than the country's foreign
debt, one needs to rethink if India is a poor country?.
DISHONEST INDUSTRIALISTS, scandalous politicians and corrupt IAS, IRS,
IPS officers have deposited in foreign banks in their illegal personal
accounts a sum of about $ 1500 billion, which have been misappropriated
by them. This amount is about 13 times larger than the country's foreign
debt. With this amount 45 crore poor people can get Rs 1,00,000 each.
This huge amount has been appropriated from the people of India by
exploiting and betraying them.
Once this huge amount of black money & property comes back to India ,
the entire foreign debt can be repaid in 24 hours. After paying the
entire foreign debt, we will have surplus amount, almost 12 times larger
than the foreign debt. If this surplus amount is invested in
earning interest, the amount of interest will be more than the annual
budget of the Central government. So even if all the taxes are
abolished, then also the Central government will be able to maintain the
country very comfortably. .
Some 80,000 people travel to Switzerland every year, of whom 25,000
travel very frequently. 'Obviously, these people won't be tourists.
They must be travelling there for some other reason,' believes an
official involved in tracking illegal money. And, clearly, he isn't
referring to the commerce ministry bureaucrats who've been flitting in
and out of Geneva ever since the World Trade Organisation (WTO)
negotiations went into a tailspin!
Just read the following details and note how these dishonest
industrialists, scandalous politicians, corrupt officers, cricketers,
film actors, illegal sex trade and protected wildlife operators, to name
just a few, sucked this country's wealth and prosperity. This may
be the picture of deposits in Swiss banks only. What about other
international banks?
Black money in Swiss banks -- Swiss Banking Association report, 2006
details bank deposits in the territory of Switzerland by nationals of
following countries :
Top Five
1. India ---- $1,456 billion
2. Russia ---$ 470 billion
3. UK -------$390 billion
4. Ukraine - $100 billion
5.. China -----$ 96 billion
Now do the maths - India with $1456 billion or $1.4 trillion has more
money in Swiss banks than rest of the world combined.
Public loot since 1947: Can we bring back our money? It is one of the
biggest loots witnessed by mankind -- the loot of the Aam Aadmi (common
man) since 1947, by his
brethren occupying public office.
It has been orchestrated by politicians, bureaucrats and some
businessmen. The list is almost all-encompassing. No wonder, everyone in
India loots with impunity and without any fear. What is even more
depressing in that this ill-gotten wealth of ours has been stashed
away abroad into secret bank accounts located in some of the world's
best known tax havens. And to that extent the Indian economy has been
stripped of its wealth.
Ordinary Indians may not be exactly aware of how such secret accounts
operate and what are the rules and regulations that go on to govern such
tax havens. However, one may well be aware of 'Swiss bank accounts,' the
shorthand for murky dealings, secrecy and of course
pilferage from developing countries into rich developed ones.
In fact, some finance experts and economists believe taxhavens to be a
conspiracy of the western world against the poor countries. By allowing
the proliferation of tax havens in the twentieth century, the western
world explicitly encourages the movement of scarce capital
from the developing countries to the rich.
In March 2005, the Tax Justice Network (TJN) published a research
finding demonstrating that $11.5 trillion of personal wealth was held
offshore by rich individuals across the globe. The findings estimated
that a large proportion of this wealth was managed from some 70 tax
havens. Further, augmenting these studies of TJN, Raymond Baker -- in his
widely celebrated book titled 'Capitalism' s Achilles Heel : Dirty Money
and How to Renew the Free Market System' -- estimates that at least $5
trillion have been shifted out of poorer countries to the
West since the mid-1970.
It is further estimated by experts that 1 % of the world's population
holds more than 57 % of total global wealth, routing it invariably
through these tax havens. How much of this is from India is anybody's
guess. What is to be noted here is that most of the wealth of Indians
parked in these tax havens is illegitimate money acquired through
corrupt means.
Naturally, the secrecy associated with the bank accounts in such places
is central to the issue, not their low tax rates as the term 'tax
havens' suggests. Remember Bofors and how India could not trace the
ultimate beneficiary of those transactions because of the secrecy
associated with these bank accounts?
IS THERE ANY ONE WHO CAN SAVE INDIA ? |

Sehajdhari Issue: I
have no faith in SGPC
Sardar G.S.Lamba (Editor Sant Sipahi) has successfully highlighted the
dishonesty of SGPC in Sehajdhari issue. [We discussed it over phone
also.] Lamba sahib and me have basic differences over the performance of
Shromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee SGPC. While I am pessimist about
the improvement of working of SGPC, Lamba is hopeful.
But under the present issue, I hope Lamba might have ultimately realised,
that the proverb ‘haathi de dand, khaan wale hor te vikhaan wale hor’
perfectly applies to SGPC working. Lamba sahib is crying how could the
SGPC file a reply in the court contrary to the SGPC Executive Committee
resolution, or the Expert Committee recommendations. But the fact is
SGPC did file the reply which was contrary to the wishes of mainstream
Sikh community. The SGPC is in the name only and decisions are taken
elsewhere while the president and executive is mere puppet.
I wonder why Lamba sahib never try to explore what are those forces
which do this kind of thing, when every body is opposed to it? Who makes
the SGPC officers to do that? Lamba should start thinking on these lines
and very soon he will realize that there exists a hidden force which has
made:-
1. SGPC is a democratic force in the name only because its members have
no say in its affairs and are not allowed to assemble at appropriate
intervals to decide things in a democratic way. They are made to meet
once in a year that too for 2 hours, just to show faith in their leader.
The leader merely sends an envelope prepared by that hidden hand.
2. Lamba sahib what opinion would you hold of an SGPC which publishes a
book (Sikh Itihas of Hindi) ridiculing Guru Sahiban. Ours worst
opponents might have spoken against we Sikhs but never against Guru
sahiban. But SGPC did it, in that Hindi book.
3. The SGPC installs ( or allows to be installed) such hoardings where
in Gursikhs are suggested not to resort to Gurbani Nitnem before
sunrise. (Of course these were later removed on the intervention of
Singh Sahib Jaginder Singh Vedanti)
4. The SGPC which took months to decide (against the interests of Panth)
the offer of UNESCO to declare our dear Durbar Sahib as world heritage
monument.
5. The SGPC Which demolished Gurdwara Lohgarh sahib, Amritsar, on the
advice of that hidden agency. Remember Lohgarh fort reminded us of the
superimacy of religion over politics. Lohgarh was a symbol of first Sikh
political establishment and assertion and was founded by non else than
our Sixth Guru Nanak. Lohgarh had wide walls upto 8 feet and would have
survived till there was sun and moon.
6. The SGPC which can publish articles of other competetor faiths (like
the Jogis of Radha Soami order) in its journal Gurmat Parkash.
7. Which can alter the very colour of Nishan sahib the Sikh standard.
Please see the Rahitmaryada for this and mark the colour of flag. (As
per Rehatmaryada approved by SGPC itself it is ‘basanti’ the yellow but
SGPC hoists saffron coloured flags to please the hidden force.)
8. Not only that the ‘prasad’ distributed by SGPC is not preparated to
laid down procedure and the formula. (They burn the floor to minimize
the calorie value and reduce taste to weaken the Khalsa)
9. While the Panth Khalsa is daily, both in their morning and evening
prayers seeking darshan of shrines left in Pakistan the SGPC took a
decision on contrary to the wishes of Panth when its Executive Committee
passed a resolution in the year 2001 seeking installation of telescopes
at border rather than demanding corridor when we launched a movement for
Kartarpur sahib corridor.
10. The SGPC which cancels pilgrimages to Pakistani shrines on one
pretext or the other.
11. The SGPC which has banned preaching of Sikh history in the shrines
under its control. This is merely done so that the Gurbani is not
interpreted in its right perspective.
12. The SGPC which confers order of Panth Rattan on Sant Singh Maskeen a
supporter of yogi mat who believed in bodily exercises in pursuance of
path to Akal Purakh, who openly defended caste system of Brahmin, idol
worship, who believed in sagan mahoorat, grih dasha and jantar mantar
and ten incarnations of Hinduism.
13. The SGPC which rejects the apology of a descendent of Mughals for
the tyrrany on Gurus and Sikhs.
14. The SGPC which has become den of corruption.
These are a few of kartoots of the so called SGPC, and I believe it has
become a dangerous organisation for the Sikhs. They are striking at the
very roots of Panth. BELIEVE ME IT CAN DO ANY THING. It is under the
control of secret agencies like the RSS and is working against the very
interest of Sikhism. The overseas Sikhs should get alerted. I believe an
effort was made to organise Sikhs in USA and some confederation of
Gurdwaras was organised but I fear that movement has weakened. May be
the agencies have infilterated in that movement. That needs to be
strengthened. I believe the UK Sikhs are in a better position to that.
Perhaps UNO can also be moved on this after all it is the question of
preservation of Sikh culture and religion. Lamba sahib I have no faith
in SGPC the organisation which was formed after a lot of sacrifices. It
is no longer SGPC of the pre Partition days. Under the present
circumstances it needs to be disbanded. Mr. Lamba will appreciate that
the problem which we are facing that kind of problems are being faced by
the Muslim community also but they are in a better position because they
don’t have any central authority which the ruler could manipulate. Our
greatest assest has become a liability. Our opponent has infiltered into
it to sabotage the Sikh movement of peace and love.

'A person trimming hair, beard can't claim to be Sehajdhari'
VARINDER WALIA TRIBUNE NEWS SERVICE
AMRITSAR , DECEMBER 6 Glaring difference of opinion on the definition of
"Sehajdhari Sikh", prepared by the SGPC executive committee and panel of
experts may put the Shiromani Committee in the spot.
The panel of Sikh experts have clearly concluded , "A person cannot
claim to be a Sehajdhari by trimming/cutting his/her beard or eyebrows
in any manner". The meeting of the panel, held here on December 4 was
necessitated when objections were raised on the definition of
Sehajdhari, passed in the executive committee meeting of the Shiromani
Committee, held on December 3 at Chandigarh. However, some members of
the panel alleged the SGPC ) ignored the suggestions e made by them at
the meeting held under the
presidentship of Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, SGPC general secretary and
necessary amendments were not made in the resolution passed by the
executive committee meeting on December 3,.
Bhaur, Kiranjot Kaur , G.S.Lamba , Prof Suba Singh and Dr Jasbir Singh
Sabar- all members of the expert panel of the SGPC said they stood by
the definition pa sed by them on December 4.
To a question, Kiranjot Kaur , an SGPC member, said the resolution of
the SGPC executive committee about the definition of Sehajdhari was
contrary to the one passed by them (Sikh expert panel). Editor of Sikh
monthly, Sant Sipahi, G.S.Lamba , one of the six members also expressed
shock the executive body had ignored the recommendations , made by the
experts.
The SGPC executive committee had reiterated the definition given in the
Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925, according to which the Sehajdhari Sikhs are
those who are born in non-Sikh families, but follow the tenets of
Sikhism. A Sehajdhari Sikh is thus a nonSikh who performs ceremonies
according to Sikh rites; who does not use . tobacco, does not consume
halal meat in any form; who is not a "patit" and who recites the
mulmantra of Guru Granth Sahib.
In the resolution passed at a meeting held this evening, the SGPC
pointed out the definition of Sehajdhari given in the Section 2 (lQ-A)
of the Gurdwara Act states the word "sehajdhari" consists of two words
"sehaj" (slowly) and "dhari" (adopt a religious path) and hence these
are those novices who slowly move on the path of Sikhism to aclopt its
doctrine, ethics and tenets.
A Sehajdhari, therefore, is one who has entered the path of Sikhism and
he will continue to be a Sehajdhari Sikh till he fully accepts the moral
and spiritual vows of Sikhism, to be called a practising Sikh. The SGPC
resolution also made it clear that when a Sehajdhari Sikh becomes a
keshdhari Sikh, but he chooses to trim.his body hair, he will not be a
Sehajdhari Sikh. Similarly, if a person born into a Sikh family (and is
a Sikh), but chooses to disrespect his keshdhari roop he will not turn
into a Sehajdhari Sikh but become a "patit".
However, Lamba and Kiranjot Kaur alleged such a definition passed by the
SGPC executive body would have farreaching effects .
Sabar, another member of the expert panel said the definition of
Sehajdhari, passed by the experts should be accepted in toto.

Gandhi and Non-Violence

Sudhir sahib!
non-violence is a methodology that needs to be adopted by the agitating
movements the world over, no doubt. But this is what you can exhibit
before sensible governments. The British were a sensible lot. The same
thing can't apply to the present regimes in India.
What kind of non-violent movement was that which resulted into the
massacre of 10 lac people and migration of one crore people. Do we have
a parallel in Human History?
Gandhi was an astute politician. He knew what weapon would be most
appropriate in his fight. Gandhi from the core of his heart, was not
sincere to the principle of non-violence, is born out from the fact that
when the Pathan guerrillas entered Kashmir in 1947, Gandhi approved
violence as a means to push them out.
But non-violence as methodology needs to be encouraged, no doubt.

Dear Mr. Saini,
I appreciate your frank response.
I can see the violence in the form of anger and frustration that you
have. I am sure this is the result of the violence that is increasing in
the society at all times.
And, this, I would say is the most important reason that we adopt
Nonviolence as the way out.
I am sure you are open to hearing the other person's view point just as
we are open to hear you with patience and respect.
We take Gandhi as one of the pioneers of Non-violence as a methodology
against violence and we strongly feel that this methodology needs to be
developed further for the growth of human being.
We need to see Gandhi in this aspect and develop this methodology
further.
I am not interested in taking this discussion on the subject of Gandhi,
since I am not having in-depth knowledge of his life. What is important
for me and my friends is the aspect of Non-violence.
When the 1984 riots took place and when the recent mumbai violence took
place - all of them very very unfortunate events - we were and are
working to organsie people at grass root levels against violence. We will
remain uniting people without any discrimination, till we have overcome
violence from within us and from around us.
We will continue doing this work, because it brings joy to all who work
in this direction and that is an achievement shared by nearly 5 million
volunteers across the world.
I am sure we will discuss these aspects more and more, with mutual
respect, since we both share the goal of happiness and peace for people.
with my deep regards,
sudhir

Dear Fellow Indian Citizen,
The terror act in Mumbai (& the earlier bomb blasts across India) have
exposed the world of Violence and its relation to the world of
Corruption.
After the Mumbai incident, lakhs of people, from all walks of life have
shown their anger with the way things are.
They have shown their opposition to Violence;
They have shown their deep and clear interest in Non-violence as the
only way out;
They have demanded Peace through Nonviolence;
People are very clear that Terrorism arises due to Corruption and
Violence in the system.
Violence has many expressions.
External violence manifests as :
Physical Violence (Mumbai like incidents, physical violation of a
victim, war, killings etc.);
Economic Violence (Poverty, Unemployment, Exploitation etc.)
Religious Violence (when people are divided and discriminated as per
their religious beliefs and incited to fight and kill each other)
Racial Violence ((when people are divided and discriminated as per their
caste/race and incited to fight and kill each other)
Gender Violence (Violence and discrimination against women)
Psychological Violence (spreading fear, negative values and controlling
people through that)
Moral Violence (Those who do nothing against the violence become an
accomplice)
Internal Violence manifests as :Our fears, hatred, frustrations,
insecurity, enmity, resentments, etc. negative feelings.
A person having Internal Violence is likely to committ external
violence;
External violence causes Internal violence in the victim.
Internal & External violence are connected with each other. Both need to
be overcome simultaneously and as a process that keeps going on over a
period of time.
The time has come for the common citizens to say "Enough is Enough" and
take charge of the society.
Criminalisation of the Politics by Corrupt people has vitiated the
atmosphere and the result is ever-increasing violence for common people.
There is no safety-security of life. there is no education, no jobs, no
health, no transportation, not even toilet facility for more than 80% of
the population, Inspite of so much talk of so much work being done for
last 60 years.
Humanists believe that Human being has stopped evolving as Human. Most
of the people are after money either as their ever-increasing- hunger or
to secure the next meal which is not certain in today's conditions for
most people.
Free Education for all, that is the aim of our Constitution is not met;
Jobs for all is not possible today;
Free Health facilities for all are not on the horizon;
Housing for all is not even a distant dream.
What is going on ? Where is the India that was dreamt by Gandhi, Bose,
Bhagat and thousands of others who laid their lives for the positive
future of Millions of Indiana ? What are we ding for it ? What do we
need to do about it ?
Its time, we pause, think and take the next step.
Humanists believe that if Honest, common citizens come to power, things
can change. If Politics can be raised to the level of the best social
work, things can change.
For this, the Humanists have taken the mission to cleanse politics and
provide a Government consisting of ordinary citizens who are honest, who
are not criminals, who are not industrialists' controlled persons, who
are not belonging to any particular family, religion or caste, but
people who are just plain simple Indians and Human beings.
The Humanist Party of India, formed in 1984 by such Humanists has been
working at grass-roots, organising and clarifying people on the Humanist
possibilities of India is now organising itself to field candidates
across India and invites common people to come together and work to
manage the country by themselves.
Humanists believe that we can have the following aims (some of the
points of Humanist Manifesto) met within a period of 5 years, by
diverting less than 15% of the armament budget :
1. Free and Uniform Education for all, atleast upto Class XII;
2. Free Health facility for all through AIIMS like hospitals built in
every district, linked to a functioning primary health centre
everywhere;
3. Housing for all;
4. Job for all and a reasonable unemployment pay to those who cannot be
given jobs immediately;
5. Profit to all Farmers on their produce and Comprehensive
Crop-insurance;
6. Transportation and Communication to be given to 100% of population
with comfort and on affordable rates on no-profit basis by the
Government.
7. Upper age-limit for all Elected Political posts (President, Prime
Minister, Minister, Chief Minister, etc.) to be maximum 70 years.
8. No one can occupy an elected political post (President, Prime
Minister, Minister, Chief Minister, etc.) more than twice.
9. Referendum by people on every major policy before a final decision
can be taken.
10. Every Elected member will be re-confirmed by the voters every 6
months.
11. Voters will have right to recall their elected representative at any
time.
(Technology to conduct such quick votes exists at very cheap rates today
and will be used for this purpose, thus bringing in Direct & Real
Democracy in practice.)
12. Unbiased discussion with all arms-using group and separatists
tendencies to ensure that all citizens of India will get dignified life
immediately, thus bringing them all to mainstream of life and
socio-political activity.
13. Respect for all cultures and religions without making them the point
of differences and discrimination.
14. Comprehensive Peace agreements with all neighbouring countries and
proportionate disarmament of conventional as well as nuclear arms with a
time-frame target.
This way, we are building the Humanist Manifesto for the country with
wide consultation of people. Such a manifesto, becoming the basis of
next Government will end the menace of Cast-religion differences,
highlighted further by reservations. Reservations will become null &
void if education, health and jobs are secured for all, ensuring quality
of life and giving them equal opportunities of growth.
The most important thing is for common-honest citizens to come forward
to run and manage their own country, treating it as their own family
affair, giving it the utmost priority.
It is time we take the next step.
We invite you to begin a new life, not just for yourself but also for
the whole nation.

Amrinder, Badal, MSGill, Punjab MLAs. Are they all terrorists?
A few days ago, I was sitting with an ex-principal
of a Hindu college who is presently employed in a Sikh institution. The
Principal was taking pride in Hindu philosophy and was prophesying that
the dawn of Hindu Bharat was soon to take place on the globe.
Since he was a very very senior principal I could
not use the strong terms, but politely asserted that it was a self
praise and in fact Hindu India is destined to doom. I told him to look
around and see how China has invaded India and he was crying ‘Pakistan’
‘Pakistan’. There was a computer set on his
table. I told him the future belongs to computer. He felt elated. I
politely asked him, as to what was Indian in his
computer. I explained him more than 50% of it was
China and rest was Korea, Japan and the software belonged to USA. He
said the software in computer was Indian. I said you are mistaken. If
0.1% of the software was developed at Bangalore, it stands bought by US.
You are paid only once where as the Chinese goods sells with every piece
obviously again and again. The highly qualified principal became dumb
after I counted the imported things in his office and what he was
wearing.
The fact is India has become mad in fanaticism and
so might be case with Pakistan. Both are doomed if they did not change
their mindset and will be slave once again very soon. India is a
democracy in the name only. It is a country of the exploiters and
exploited. It boasts of its fair elections. But the world does not know
that the poor voter is exploited in every case. I have my self witnessed
political parties distributing cash, liquor and other intoxicants during
elections. The political parties shamelessly send liquor trucks to
constituencies. But here in Amritsar in the last election when a lot of
hue and cry was raised against the distribution of intoxicants in Sikh
area, a candidate Inderbir Sarkaria resorted to distribution of atta the
wheat flour. He was praised!
If you are allotted the
ticket of a party you become millionaire overnight. Car loads of cash
automat ally land in your office. In fact this dubious democracy
has devised means to keep the masses away from power. The whole
bureaucratic set up is supposed to ensure that peoples aspirations don’t
find expression in the election. The Govt set up has raised a huge army
of intelligence touts to prevent and suppress the peoples feelings.
When I write this the Kartarpur Corridor is again
in my mind. It is by now known to everybody that it is the Punjabi
peoples movement. Captain Amrinder Singh ex CM Punjab has been its
staunch supporter and so is S. Parkash Singh Badal, Ex- Chief Election
Commissioner of India Dr. Manohar Singh Gill has strongly pleaded the
case of Corridor. Most of the MLAs in Punjab including those of Congress
are its protagonists. The reason is simple.
People in this region respect Guru Nanak and
Kartarpur is the place where he passed away. Now
does this mean that all these people are terrorists? If the intelligence
agencies are to be believed they are. Because they want to give the
impression that Kartarpur Corridor is the demand of terrorists.
Now when Pakistan has agreed to the corridor how
can the typical Indian mindset accept this? And they have novel ways to
suppress peoples movement. Now as far as issues of Punjab are concerned
and when they are to suppress them they use the bogey of ‘secessionism’
and isolate the movement from Indian masses. This they have been doing
since long: right from the days of Partition to Punjabi Suba, Dharamyudh
movement and so on.
In the case of Kartarpur the mindset stealthily
whispers, ‘it is ok, but it will bring the Punjabis across frontiers
closure.’’ Now what ever the peoples aspiration who are you to suppress
it? If you admit you do it what kind of democracy is it?
And to prevent this it again
employs its tested tool, ‘the secret agents’ or the ‘Pseudo-Khalistanis’.
For example when in 2004 when the movement for
Corridor had become too strong and popular they used the services of a
Pseudo-Khalistanis Dr. Jagjit Singh Chohan.
Now a days when the movement is again gaining
momentum and since Dr. Jagajit Singh Chohan has
passed away, they use the services of S.Gurmit Singh Aulakh anther
Pseudo-Khalistani. Recently S.Aulakh was deputed to Pakistan to meet the
Pakistan PM on Kartarpur. Then a lot of publicity was made to that a
Khalistani has met the PM of Pakistan demanding Corridor to give an
impression that Corridor is not the demand of people of Punjab but it is
the demand of a handful Khalistanis.
Now take the case of this gentleman S.Aulakh. The
Indian Govt’s own Intelligence Bureau officer Mr. M.K Dhar ex Joint
Director in his book ‘Open Secrets’, Dr.
Sangat Singh who has been member of Joint Intelligence Committee of Govt
of India (The apex body of Indian Intelligence Agencies) in his book,
‘Sikhs in History’ both admit that Aulakh is an intelligence operator of
Govt of India through their agencies IB and RAW.
This is how the Hindutava mindset thwart the
popular movements in India to keep this sham democracy in few hands. But
the nature doesn’t allow it for long. Paapi ko marne ko paap mahabali
hai i.e the sin will be buried under its own weight.
Now appended below is a letter of this Aulakh
gentleman who writes to Pakistan PM. It is self explainatry:-Hin

PAK
PM GILANI DECLARES CONSTRUCTION OF KARTARPUR CORRIDOR ROAD
A detailed front page news has appeared in Jagbani the most
circulated daily of Punjabi, according to which the Pakistan Prime
Minister Yusuf Reja Gilani has declared construction of road connecting
Kartarpur sahib with the Indian border. (We should not however be
surprised how the news item remained blocked for such a long time as the
delegation met the Pak PM around Nov 13 i.e Guru Nanak sahibтАЩs
birthday gurpurab. May be it is now that the agencies decided to allow
it in view of the Bombay incidence. )
It is reminded that Pakistan has already agreed to the Sikh demand of
granting passport/visa free corridor to Punjabis from Indian territory
to the shrine. The Pak acceptance has been repeated by Pak Govt on more
than one occasion. But there was no road connecting the border with
shrine. In 2002 the Pak Govt constructed the link road connecting the
Shrine with Narowal- Shakargarh main road.
The excerpts of English translation of the news, original of which
is given below. Those whose email did not allow attachment can read the
news in original at
www.kartarpur. com/jagbani81208 .htm :-
GILANI GRANTS OPENING OF KARTARPUR SAHIB CORRIDOR
Amritsar, Dec 7 (Kakkarh) Kartarpur sahib the Sikh shrine
situated across the river Ravi in Pakistan for which the Shromani
Gurdwara Parbandik committee and other Sikh organizations are demanding
a free corridor from Indian border but the demand was not accepted.
It is learnt from reliable sources that the Pakistan Govt has now
assured that a road connecting the shrine with border will be
constructed. A delegation of Sikh pilgrims who called on Prime Minister
was assured by the PM that all arrangements for opening of corridor has
been made and it is decided that the road connecting the Indian city
Dera Baba Nanak with Kartarpur will be constructed.
I was also informed that that a plan for conservation of Gurdwara Bal
Leela has also been prepared.

'Namdhari-Guru'
passes on his seat to Jagtar Singh?
Every religion has sects. But certain Deras (seats) in Sikhism for their
selfish motive challenge the authority of Guru Granth Sahib and their
head claim equal status to that of Sikh Gurus. One such sect is Kukas
the Namdhari. Their present head is Baba Jagjit Singh ji (May he live
long).
The following email from one of their devotee will clarify that the Baba
who has no son of his own has already passed on the seat to one Jagtar
Singh. The fact is there is forceful tussle going on for gaddi which
means property worth hundreds of crores.
As would happen with the writers in Punjab, a Namdhari Mr X once
approached me explaining me that there was utter necessity of a living
Guru and that a book couldn’t be a Guru. He challenged me that I can’t
attain spiritual height unless I have a living Guru.
I posed certain questions and Mr. X went away with the promise that he
will return with an enlightened Kuka to explain it all. These were my
queries to him:-
1. A Guru teaches you gur the technique, cant it be communicated through
a written word?
2. Where did Baba Ram Singh claimed Guruship for him?
3. How could Baba Ram Singh attain God without Guru?
4. Mr. X explained me that Baba Ram Singh also had a Guru in Baba Balak
Singh. I said ok. But who was Guru of Balak Singh. X said, “Guru Gobind
Singh was Guru of Balak” I said but Guru Gobind Singh ji passed away in
1708 and Balak Singh was living till 1862 AD. I said does it mean that
Baba Balak Singh lived about 200 year?
5. Why you namdhari consider Balak Singh in the line of Gurus? Why your
11 th Guru is Baba Ram Singh and not Baba Balak Singh?

................. This is all about money and vast wealth and who will
eventually control the mutli Trillion rupee dynasty of the Namdhari
Royal family who have factories, Land , Stud farms, seed farms, milk
dairies, Malls, shopping centres etc etc etc in their own name and not
in the Sangat's name. If I am not wrong all this money has come from the
Sangat.
The first action should be that all the wealth should be transferred to
Sangat's name. ................. Regards, Baba

SRI SATGURU RAM SINGH JI SAHAI
Sadh Sangat ji
Sat Sri Akal ji
It is with the utmost grief and condolence that the Namdhari Panth has
suffered the loss of Sri Maharaj Bir Singh ji (Sri Satguru ji’s
brother). A loss that is irreplaceable.
You are all aware that Sri Maharaj ji’s funeral took place at Gurudwara
Sri Bhaini Sahib in the divine presence of Sri Satguru ji. The body of
Sri Maharaj ji was blessed by Sri Satguru ji before the cremation as the
forehead of Sri Maharaj ji being touched by the pious feet of Sri
Satguru ji. Sri Satguru ji, also comforted Mata Dalip Kaur (wife of Sri
Maharaj ji) by placing his auspicious hands on her head at the time of
the funeral to bless and comfort her.
Final prayers were offered before Sri Satguru ji, after the recitation
of Holy Adi Granth in the presence of thousands of overwhelming members
of Sangat who had arrived from near and far, including overseas, where
Thakur Dalip Singh (eldest son of Sri Maharaj ji) addressed the sad
gathering.
Sri Thakur ji said Sri Maharaj ji was blessed by being a ‘son of a
guru’, and ‘brother of a guru’ as well as ardent gursewak of gurmat. Sri
Satguru ji had immense admiration and love for Sri Maharaj ji. Thakur ji
concluded that even though Sri Maharaj ji was the son of a guru, he
revered his brother (Sri Satguru ji) with all his faith. There is no
such example in the Sikh history that matches Sri Maharaj ji’s total
dedication to Sri Satguru ji and the Sikh faith.
Sri Thakur ji challenged those miscreants within the Panth who conspired
to allege that Sri Maharaj ji was ‘bemukh’ and who wanted to become a
‘guru’ were totally absurd and blatant fabrication from the real truth.
Sri Thakur ji invited those scoundrels to come forward and face the Sadh
Sangat.
After the cremation ceremony’s had completed, Sri Satguru ji at his
residence, commented that Thakur Dalip Singh addressed the Sangat
extremely well and sermoned that there will be a Mela in the honour of
Sri Maharaj ji at Sri Jiwan Nagar on 1st and 2nd November.
Sadh Sangat ji, these miscreants (Jagtar Singh (son-in-law of Sri
Satguru ji), Sri Uday Singh (younger son of Sri Maharaj ji), H S Hanspal,
Avtar Singh Tari and etc) who have for so long destroyed the credibility
and the unity of the Namdhari Panth, did not allow Sri Satguru ji and
Sri Mata Chand Kaur (Sri Satguru ji’s wife) to attend the Mela of
Satguru ji’s brother in Sri Jiwan Nagar.
In Sri Jiwan Nagar, 35,000 devout faithful of Sri Satguru ji had
gathered, when Sri Uday Singh forbade the Sangat to use Sri Satguru Hari
Singh College for their rest and sleep. This was the first indication on
the first day of the Mela that Sri Satguru ji might not be allowed to
come!
Thakur ji in his request to the Sadh Sangat appealed altogether to pray
so that Sri Satguru ji would benign the Sadh Sangat with his holy
presence on this sad occasion of the demise of Sri Satguru ji’s devout
sewak and brother.
He stressed that Sadh Sangat’s ardas would make more sense than his own
request before Sri Satguruji.
Chances of Sri Satguru ji’s darshan were fast diminishing as the first
day was coming to a close but the Sangat was still confident that Sri
Satguruji would listen to their prayers.
When the word had got out that the miscreants will not allow Sri Satguru
ji to come to his brother’s Mela, the Namdhari Youth convened a meeting
at Sri Jiwan Nagar and met Sri Uday Singh to plead with him that the
entire Namdhari Sangat has put their hopes in him to act wisely and
bring Sri Satguru ji to Sri Jiwan Nagar, to which Sri Uday Singh replied
that he has already tried.
Next morning Sri Satguru ji phoned Sri Uday Singh and instructed him ‘mai
Jiwan Nagar Mela te ana hai’ (I want to come to the Mela in Jiwan
Nagar), to which Sri Uday Singh replied, your health is poor and you
should rest and not come.
When Thakur ji got to know about this conversation and Sri Uday Singh’s
desire not to allow Sri Satguru ji to come, while addressing the Sangat,
he remarked, what is the purpose of Asa de Var – which teaches us to
bind together but Sri Uday Singh does not want the unity amongst the
Guru Parivar (holy family) and also does not also want Sri Satguru ji to
be present amongst us here today.
Sri Uday Singh in a very frenzied and angry mood replied that no one can
stop Sri Satguru ji from coming here and went on to say to the Sadh
Sangat to leave the Mela.
Sadh Sangat did not move and Uday Singh with his four persons departed
to Mastan Garh. Despite many humble requests to Sri Uday Singh by the
Sangat to come back to participate in the Mela, he went off to Sri
Bhaini Sahib.
The vehicle carrying Sri Mata ji to Sri Jiwan Nagar from Sri Bhaini
Sahib was turned back at Bhatinda, so that she too could not participate
at the Mela.
The Sangat still thought that Satguru would somehow come today. By the
afternoon Sri Thakur ji in his address to thank the entire Sangat for
their participation, cooperation at the Mela from all corners of India
and abroad shared his disbelief over the events that had unfolded over
the past two days and reiterated that he had said noting wrong to Sri
Uday Singh. If Sri Uday Singh feels that this is not the case, with my
both hands folded, I apologize and ask for forgiveness and ask him to
come back to his father’s Mela, Thakur ji concluded.
It has come to know from Sri Bhaini Sahib that Sri Satguru ji had
instructed at least 4 to 5 times that he wants to go to Sri Jiwan Nagar,
but Jagtar Singh said that if you go there I will take poison and kill
my self. Sadh Sangatji if this is happening now while Sri Satguruji is
with us, think of the unimaginable..
On 18th November, tyrant Jagtar Singh brought a magistrate to Gurudwara
Sri Bhaini Sahib. Hanspal and all the rest of the mafia were present. By
fraud and force Sri Satguru ji has been made to claim that as he is
frail and too old and cannot carry on functioning the affairs of the
Namdhari Panth as the spiritual head of the Namdhari Sikhs, he therefore
has surrendered the complete power of attorney to Jagtar Singh as of the
date of the visit of the magistrate.
Sadh Sangat ji this treacherous document had been already prepared and
Sri Satguru ji was merely instructed to sign it by Sri Satguru ji’s
personal assistant Raspal Singh.
Disloyalty, double standards and enjoying ignorance in the face of
kalyug in Sri Satguru ji’s Darbar of Satyug has been adorned by his own
family and those individuals whom he confided and raised to levels
beyond their own comprehension.
This is the core of our deliberations from the beginning, Sadh Sangat ji.
We feel that we have alleviated this gross misconduct of these
miscreants to every heart and mind in the Namdhari world. We pray to Sri
Satguru ji to alleviate us all from these tyrants.

Give up religion and you
become Sick (Anxiety: BP,
Ulcers, Sugar, Obesity)
I lived my youthful years as a communist
atheist. Years ago, I took to religion and now I firmly believe that
religious beliefs are definitely helpful to live a real happy life
because the religion changes ones outlook towards life. I am not here
talking about any particular religion but all religions. The thinking
that science and religion are rival to each other is highly unjustified.
They in fact are complimentary to each other and both have learnt a lot
from each other. Both these fields try to bare the hidden mysteries of
nature.
No doubt we have witnessed many ills of
religion and a lot of blood has been shed in the name of religion. But I
believe for this religious philosophy in not to be blamed; I mean basic
philosophy of religion, not the side lights.
In fact when someone makes tremendous gain from a religious philosophy,
he begins to take pride in that particular philosophy and because of
particular personal behavioural traits, some persons develop a kind of
hysteria which results into fanaticism. Like there are family oriented
fanatics, racial fanatics, regional and national fanatics etc. similarly
there can be fanatics of a particular religion. The religion on the
contrary advises you to shed your ego and become humble. The fanatic
type of people are such who have a tasted only superficial elixir of
religion. A devout person on the contrary becomes humble and loves
everyone.
On the other hand, I
believe an atheist person is bound to develop problems like anxiety,
tensions, worries and thereby such problems as hypertension, diabetes,
ulcers etc. because his mind has no mechanism that can reduce his
worries psychologically. For example if on road
two persons namely one on cycle and other on Honda car are moving. The
cyclist (if) being a religious is in the happy state of mind while the
ambitious Honda man is in tension because just now a man on Mercedes
haunted and taunted him with his blowing horn. Honda man dreams of
possessing the higher car but his limitations bring negative feelings in
him and he becomes desperate and then develops a kind of tension. The
religious cyclist believes that cycle is his fate and may be fate has
something more in future. Religion thus changes the human
outlook towards life and man is liberated from worries and
ecstasies. Religious beliefs are salvation for man from these ills and
one lives a happy contended life. We Sikhs
use a proverb, “Guru Nanak ne jagg
tariya” i.e ‘ Guru Nanak liberated the humankind’. Obviously he
changed the human outlook to make them happy.
In this context, I believe (I may be
right or wrong) basic philosophy of all religions is the same.
It will thus be interesting to note for
an atheist to know how the religious beliefs eradicate worries of a
person:-
1.
Belief in fate:
Religion tells you that the life you are living is predetermined.
(pragtiya sabh me likhiya dhur
ka) Atheists have been contesting this claim but now the study of
genetics have begun to believe that this could be true. Genetics (study
of genes in chromosomes in cell nucleus) tell us that much of the fate
of a person is decided right when he is in the womb.
So when a person starts believing in the fate he will not crumble
at some loss and will take it as curse of fait and will live with it
rather than complaining for life.
2.
Human Reality:
The absolute reality of our body is that it will merge in those elements
from which it was evolved. The death has to any way.
Religion tells us that those who accept death right during their
life time lead a happy life; the charhdi kala life.
For example when a person is baptized into Sikhism, the priests
demand his ‘head’. It says, ‘first accept death, stop
weaving cobweb of dreams, become humble,
then come to us and let us to play the game of love.’
3.
Evolution from the one and only:
Religion tells us that we are born from the ultimate element which is
root of all elements. The entire universe is merely manifestation of
that root element. We are one and the question of high and low is not
thus relevant. We ultimately vanish into that element. Religion tells us
that that matter takes birth (production) or
perish (death) also i.e the matter will disappear and can be created.
The science on the contrary believed that the matter can’t be created
neither can it be destroyed i.e the concept of
‘chemical indestructibility of matter’.
However recently it has been proved that atom can disappear and
would convert into energy. Disappearance or creation of matter is
traditionally called ‘miracle’. Remember recently
an experiment was made underground how the matter will disappear. Even a
century ago Albert Einstein's gave an equation, Energy = Mass x the
square of the velocity of light (E=mc2) which is now being proved.
4.
Drama of Life:
Religion
tells us that the world is a drama and we are merely participant actors
in it. It says do not get too much involved in it. I have an interesting
example of this case:
My mother-in-law used to stay with us and was found of a TV
serial ‘Kasauti’ being illiterate she would call it ‘secouty’ and we
would all laugh at that. She would get annoyed if some one changed the
channel when her secouty’ was on. One day there was some tragic scene in
her ‘secouty’ and she started weeping. I found my wife was explaining to
her that that was a fiction what she was viewing and the actress has not
died in real life. But she insisted on weeping notwithstanding because
she was so much got involved into the fiction. Religion tells us
that what we consider as our close relatives are in fact co actors and
family is in fact a particular scene we got together at. We will have to
depart from this scene and may be more actors leave before we do. So
don’t get too much down when someone leaves.
5.
Five tools of God
This drama of world is in action because of
five tools of God namely Kaam, krodh, loab, moh and Ahankar (sex, anger,
greed, attachment, and pride) which are in fact branches of the single
root called ‘ego’. They are the root cause of man’s sorrows.
Religion tells us that once you know the administration (hukam)
of God these five evils will not bother you (nanak hukme jey
bujhe taan haumen kahe na koi). Thus the whole drama can be
understood from these tools of God.
Sex bothers us too much, but religion tells us to know the root cause of
sex appeal; the male female attraction. We then learn that it is because
the clever Creator expects us to indulge into it so that a child is born
and the continuity of mankind is ensured. It is because of this reason
that seed or wheat or paddy is born. All plants and animals are
compelled to reproduce. The modes may be interesting to know. If this
sexual urge is not there, who will produce the offspring then?
For example to move a car we need the fuel (petrol) similarly for our
body it is the food which is fuel. The creator since insists on
continuity of full scale drama he prompts us to take the fuel (food) and
run this machine at full speed. The Clever has induced ‘taste’ in food
so that we get attracted to it. Now if we take the food to the extent of
fuel it is ok and if we continue taking excessive food because it
gives us taste, the same food will cause us trouble, we will become fat
and a series of problem will occur.
In the same manner, sex is for reproduction and if we indulge into it
when there is natural pressure and if we ourselves induce sex urge
for taste we will create problem for us. Many lives are lost in this
exercise when they do not understand the secret behind it.
(b) If there is no moh the attachment who will bring up
the child. Children will be born and thrown on roads. It is the
attachment which compels us to look after and feed the children. The
animals be it ant or elephant nurture their children. Similar is the
case with lobh the greed ahankar the
pride. These are the tools of Almighty and prompt us to indulge into
worldly activity. They are the root cause of our agonies and
interestingly world drama would be incomplete without them.
Our dukh sukh comfort and discomfort are in fact our
state of mind (dukh sukh dove mann ki birtha) So if you start taking an
event adversely it is adverse otherwise not. If you have incurred
some loss and if you start taking seriously then surely it is loss for
you. But when you think that ultimately whole material property has to
be given up then there is no loss.
6.
No paap,
no puna
Then we you realize that what ever you have been doing in the
past was not exclusively in your control, then you
have no regrets for the paaps (sins) you indulged into. You are bound to
get rewards and punishments. But these will be restricted to body not to
mind, once you are an illuminated person. You will remain in chardi kala
the high spirited way of life. I repeat dukh and sukh are mere state of
mind.
7.
Power of
Prayer
A religious person holds a powerful tool when his knowledge
and devotion is failing and one is in a sorrow/ anxiety state of mind.
He can then pray before God to liberate him from that
state of mind. The philosophy tells him that
material gains are useless but even then if one has not attained that
height In spiritualism and still if he longs for something he can demand
from the ‘giver God’ and he gets it.
The devotee attains further heights in his religious pursuit when he
starts thanking God for the blissful life he is leading. From the depths
of his heart he begins to say praises of God as he recounts his
weakness. Counting, singing praises of God (naam)
then becomes the way of life of a devotee.
8.
Infinite God
The very concept of God that He is creator of entire
universe, He is infinite, beyond our concepts of time and space, He is
neither born nor dies to take birth again, the Nirankar
is shapeless, He can be seen from His creations, at times He becomes
attributeless i.e in zero/vacuum nirgun state and then
with one stroke He creates universe, He is kind and responds to our
prayers and that he is close to us, is a matter of solace and the
devotee begins to talk to him.
He is a happy man now but devoid of that kind of thing which worldly
people call happiness. He is above worries. He attains supreme bliss
which no intoxicant can give.
(This what I
have copied from various sources. Let us discuss it. I will surely
respond to your guiding query at
bsgoraya@kartarpur.com)

What kind of
scholars are we? Analysing Terrorism
I am a member of about 100 discussion groups and
whenever any terrorist incidence takes place I find a hot discussion
taking place among the 'scholars'. Some one writes,
"No! they came via sea." other claims 'they traveled from Kashmir
.' One says, 'they were armed with AK 47' while the other contests the
claim. Some one says they were Pakistanis the other says 'no they are
Indians itself.' 'Islamic terrorism' ' Hindu terrorism' 'Sikh Terrorism'
"It is RSS' 'No it is Al Queda', ' They were Punjabis from Sialkot '.
'No they were Mossad agents'.
I often find our scholars ignoring that BSF or
Coast Guard people are also human being and they are Govt employees like
any other department; police, income tax, sales tax, electricity,
municipal. How do you assume that the BSF man can't be corrupt?
I find no scholar ever admits that the terrorist
first accepts death in principle and resorts to killing others. Do we
really ask where can a man be motivated to accept death in first place?
What is the strength of motivation?
No scholar ever discusses WHY AFTER ALL THEY ARE
MAD TO DIE AND KILL OTHERS.
Why this terrorism in first place????????????
Can we really annihilate terrorism without removing
the root cause?
Are we really scholars?
Are not we tools of one brand or other of the
politicians?

Probe Purohit's links with Sikh massacre of Chittisinghpora Kashmir
I am sorry my this mail will show the otherwise
brave Indian army in poor light. This relates to killing of 35 Sikhs
when the killers came in uniform. Now since Col. Purohit has been
identified having links with terrorists we feel it is high time that
massacre of 35 innocent Sikhs be also probed. The way L.K.Advani has
come to the rescue of these terrorists, we suspect the same large group
or what they call regiment might be there indulging into such
activities. Incidentally when on March 20, 2000
Sikhs were massacred this same Advani went to Kashmir to congratulate
the army officers on the spot.
It is high time that India do some probing in this
kind of massacre of minorities or else it will loose its credibility of
being a largest democracy of world where the rights of minorities
are also protected.
----
US president Bill
Clington was to visit to India on March 24, but on
March 20, 35 Kashmiri Sikhs were
massacred by men in uniform. Clington and the US media had then blamed
Hindu militants for the massacre. Indian media had blamed foreign
mercenaries acting on behalf of Pakistan .
Four days later the
army killed five persons and branded them as the Pakistani mercenaries
responsible for massacre of Sikhs. As there were persistent agitations
against killing of those 5 Kashmiris the
Govt had to order enquiry into this and the bodies of the 5
Kashmiris were exhumed from graves and they were identified the
real civilians at the much discomfort to army. The J&K Govt got it
enquired from a commission of enquiry. As a result of which five army
officers were identified and CBI charge sheeted them.
The then CM of J&K Mr.
Farooque Abdulla was ready, as he has stated, to get this Sikh massacre
also enquired into by a court of enquiry but was prevented by the Delhi
leaders. Things became clear who was responsible for the massacre after
the accused officers have openly confessed that they did it on orders
from seniors.
It is more than 2
years now that the army officers were booked by the CBI but
unfortunately no Sikh politician has raised his voice on the massacre of
35 Sikhs of Anant Nag district. The Govt has not
bothered to look into this massacre.
What does it mean? Are
the rights of microscopic minorities like the Sikhs are safe in India

Opponents of Raj

In my short journalism
career I have had opportunities to interview some extremist leaders also
and every time I am surprised to find a delicate and a humanitarian mind
notwithstanding. Obviously these are the kind of people who think of the
alternatives that can take them to the apex of power. So when these
vacant minds (leaders) discover that a substantial section of society
subscribes to a particular school of thought which has not been
represented they would run to snatch that
particular ladder to reach the apex of power.
Raj
Thakre of Maharashtra is one such leader. It is a fact that some quarter
exists in Maharashtra that subscribes to his ideology. And he has become
a force to reckon with. He is not being kept behind the bars because the
administration of the day is aware of the nuisance that will follow and
only such Govts afford lawlessness who are ready to go out of
office.
So if at all you are to
blame Thakre, blame the Maharashtrian people. And if you are real well
wisher of the country or people you will try to explore reasons behind
emergence of Thakre-phenomenon or Thakre kind of thinking. (And
ultimately find Centre is itself the real villain.)
But I find its reasons
from the book of a former President of India: India Divided- by Dr.
Rajender Parsad. He believed (like any honest student of political
science) that what we today call India , is a conglomerate of various
nations. And on the other hand there is an age
old principle of political science that no two nations can co-exist
peacefully under single ruler because one or the other will always
suffer.
And this is what ails
India .
Then after
independence the bureaucrats have been consistently tutored to be
faithful of the Centrist India rather than Indian people. Even a former
Indian super spy (Open Secret-MKDhar) has confessed in his book
that RSS ideology is the real guiding spirit of
Indian intelligence agencies rather than the spirit of Indian
Constitution. The world knows that RSS ideology is an example of extreme
chauvinism. As a result of which bei-mani the fraudulence is the guiding
spirit of Indian governance. It begins right from the apex. Even after
61 years of 'independence' India has miserably
failed in fair allocation of central revenues among the states. THIS IS
A GLARING EXAMPLE OF A FAILED STATE WHICH IGNORES THE GOLDEN PRINCIPLE
OF EQUALITY BEFORE LAW. Every time a new government devises its own
formula on revenue allocation. A Punjabi
proverb perfectly fits into the case: anna vande sirni: murh murh
appnea nu. (i.e ones own preferred while distributing.)
And this is the root cause
of birth of Raj Thakres. They will continue to grow until India becomes
a fair governance.
It is the result of this
fraudulent governance:-
-
That in the Punjab state the birth rate is
14.3% after ten years while the Indian average is 28.7%
-
That the Punjab state which was once considered to be the richest
state (per capita income-wise) has
notoriously become liquor based economy where 1/3rd of
its tax revenue comes from liquor and the always money deficit
state has no avenue to generate revenue other than 'amals'
the intoxicants.
-
That Punjab state which was placed at 7th place in
literacy terms in 1951 is now fallen to 24th place.
-
That in the Punjab state henceforth 20% of the boys will remain
unmarried.
-
That the respective governments in the neighbourhood of Punjab
have enacted such domicile laws that Punjabis can't buy
property in the states of Himachal, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan , Jammu
and Kashmir while Indians are free to settle and buy immovable
property in Punjab .
-
That the Centre Govt has advanced 15 year tax exemptions for the
industries in the neighbourhood of Punjab so that Punjab industry is
shifted to neighbouring states.
These are only a few
examples that comes to my mind in half an hours. The fact is India is
full of this and if it is to survive its only solution lies in
Federalism i.e the promise it made before independence. So if you don't
do it yourself then ultimately the people will themselves do but then
Indian subcontinent will mean something around 500 states.
