RIPUDAMAN'S REBELLIOUS RHYMES

ON THE UNIFICATION OF PUNJAB

Can there be peace in lndia,
Without Punjab's unification ?
For, geographical bifurcation, - can't divide,
The "spirit of Punjab", - It's "Cultural traditions'

Can one dream of Punjab,
Without Nankana and Lahore ?
Or even without Sialkot,
Where poetry galored ?

The battle-fields of Kurukshetra, Panipat,
Where our legacy, - Nation's Pride;
So were Kashmir and Himalayas,
With splendid valleys, - marvelous country-side.
Panjabis were courageous,
Bold, - and brave;
Betrayed by foolish
leaders, Treacherous, -'and knave.

They lynched, - Panjabi, Punjab, Panjabiat,
To become Chief Ministers;
Dancing to the tunes of "Delhi Darbar,
Known for designs, - nefarious- sinister.

How long, - the "Massa-Ranggars",
Of Panjabiat, - will thrive ?
Over our patience, - or the "Dole",
They got as ransom, to survive.
Hail,- the "Unification of Punjab",
Hail,- Punjab's "clarion call";
Awake, awake, O, brave Panjabis',
T's not a fancy, - "INEVITABLE',
written on the walls. : .'

KETIA VERSUS MANSA

Said KETIA, "l love Punjab,
And its 'glorious' CULTURE;
Where logic has gone to 'dogs',
And JUSTICE to the 'vulture'.
"She was not RAPED,
But, 'lnfact' MODESTED;"
So observed the 'wise' GRANDPA,
When Confronted, - Protested.
"Lucky you are, - baby KETIA,
Since you hail from FRANCE; ,
For, POLICE would have shot you;'
Said MANSA, "ln the first INSTANCE,
Strange! - You talk of LOGIC- ..justice,
And the FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION;
Here 'people' don't protest against,
EXTENSION, SUPPRESSION,

Trampled TRUTH, - terrorised, BEAUTY
'PEACE' chiding' DEMOCRACY;
T's the Punjabi DlRGE, - KETIA,
THREE YEARS' LEGACY:'
