Bapu Asa Ram & Sikhs

Bapu Asa Ram & Sikhs

Whenever some Indian celebrity is trapped in some criminal activity, he would deliberately insult some Sikh tenet.  In return the Sikhs would raise a cry and he begins to get sympathy of the Indian people. Glaring examples of Indira Gandhi and Gurmit Ram Rahim of Sirsa are before us.  Because over the years the media has portrayed Sikhs as enimical to India.  It is increasing becoming difficult for Sikhs to harmonise with this kind of India. With every day gone the Sikhs are being used as dummies.
In the recent case of Bapu Asa Ram an extremely popular preacher of Hindus facing arrest for alleged rape of a teenager girl. Bapu's aide Neelam Dubey has insulted Sikhism on TV
In this case while the reaction of DSGPC is spontaneous the activity of often dormant, SGPC Amritsar seems some what conspiring. May be Asaram has managed it through BJP. After all I have a suspecting mind.

Bapu often talks vulgar. I myself heard once saying, " Once a ma'm (the English woman) said Bapu you are hot." Bapu is now neck deep involved in a rape case. Since he is very popular among Hindus may be attempts are being made to save him. It is unlikely that he would be punished as a ordinary citizen is punished. In fact the 'Chanakiya Neeti' or Indian policy which in fact governs the India lays down such a discriminatory approach.

AT NANAKSAR -THEY WORSHIP BUT DON’T OBEY GURU

AT NANAKSAR -THEY WORSHIP BUT DON’T OBEY GURU

(Writing on Jantri the Sikh calendar we tried to understand the deras who were opposed to it)
Nanaksar was founded by an ascetic Baba Nand Singh ji [died-1943]. The sect doesn't subscribe to natural path sahij marg of Guru Nanak where ritualism and penance is prohibited. They worship Guru Granth sahib like an idol and their other religious activities are more like Hindus. Their total commitment to Gurbani is however laudable.
At one time the Government was promoting this sect. We are surprised to note in past the Govt. at Delhi had allowed them to build a Gurdwara at a prime land in a park, green belt at Shankar Road, near Rajinder Nagar, while at the same time  it had simultaneously demolished some structures at Majnu ka Tilla Delhi a historic site on the banks of river Yamuna.
We have recently visited Nanaksar (near Jagraon Ludhiana) to know more about them.
•    Guru Granth is installed like an idol and access to an ordinary devotee is denied to it.
•    . The Sikh flag nishan sahib is not hoisted on the building.
•    A, separate term is assigned to the Gurdwara i.e Thath or the abode of enjoyment..
•    . Sikhism condemns renunciation of family life, they have founded a group called Behangams the ascetics who are to remain unmarried throughout their lives.
•    . They specifically prohibit meat eating.
•    . They don't read Raj karega Khalsa couplet ordered by the Tenth Guru.
•    . They do  wear five Ks of the Sikhs, with a small sword of merely of an inch or two like a janeo of the Hindus.
•    They don't believe in the free kitchen langar concept of Guru Nanak.
•     They undertake penance
•    . They don't subscribe to the concept of Sangat and instead give importance to individual saints.
•    . They have firm belief in pap-pun
•    They do not subscribe to the Gurdwara practices of til-phul i.e humble offering according to ones means instead they separately or say secretly accept money.
•    They don't subscribe to the traditional Prasad system of the Gurdwara and rather they accept sugar cubes from devotees which are clandestinely sold back to . the shops nearby.
•    . They observe auspicious/inauspicious days and dates.
•     Since the Thaths are headed by so called saints there are often disputes as to possession of the Thaths and succession on the death of a saint.'
At present there are two groups controlling the Thath here at Jagraon- one lead by Baba Kundan Singh and the other by Baba Sadhu Singh. We have found the group of Baba Kundan Singh more ritualistic than the other.
At the time of our visit Baba Kundan Singh was not available, we talked to Baba Sadhu Singh.
We follow the Hazur sahib maryada-Baba Sadhu Singh
Q- Why you are opposing-Nanakshahi Jantri?
BSS- Sikhs are celebrating festivels relating to Gurus for 500 years . How can we change the days now.
Q- But the Bikrami calendar doesnot confirm to seasons.?
BBS – Our Baba (Nand Singh ji) advised us to meditate on Katik Pooranmashi so that we are liberated from the cycle of births and deaths. Meditation of this single night is equal to one full year because on this day God himself comes on earth.(Gurbani believes that God almighty is omnipresent and no particular day is auspicious or inauspicious.)
Q- Who are these ascetic boys Guru Nanak condemns renunciation.
BSS- Were panj pyaras the five beloved married?
Q- Why don't you hoist Nishan sahib the flag at Nanaksar?-
BSS- Because we don't have langar the free kitchen here, what ever God sends we just accept it.
Q- We have learnt that you don't recite dohra
‘Agya bhai akal ki...... Raj karega khalsa'
BSS- People merely read we believe in it. [They recite a part of ' dohra and omit 'Raj karega Khalsa part)
Q- We have seen some booklets [Gutkas] published by Nanaksar wherein changes have been made in Gurbani. Sikhs apprehend that it a beginning to make attempt to alter Gurbani. Also in these Gutkas a long commentary is published in the beginning of some Sukhmani gutkas wherein impression is being given that Guru sahiban were sick and suffered from leprosy which is historically incorrect?
BSS- Ask from those who are doing it. (Babaji hints at the other group namely the followers of Baba Kundan Singh) .
Q- The  code of conduct [Rehatmaryada] you observe is not essentially the Sikh one?
BSS- We follow Hazur sahib Marvada.
Q- But at Hazur sahib they serve even meat in langar which you prohibit?
BSS- They may do any thing. We are not to stay there.
Q- When a Sikh goes before his Guru he makes humble offerings (till-phull) there. You 'have stopped this practice and on the contrary accept money separately and rather secretly.
BSS- Are we to get our sons and daughters married with the money. [They selectively accept offerings from devotees)

Q- Guru Nanak condemned ritualism especially show through dress i.e bhekh?
BSS- Guru had founded the nirmal panth. lf some one wears white or red how does it bother you?
Q- So politics should be separated from religion?
BSS- Get out from here. Go.

RSS OPPOSES ROAD TO GOLDEN TEMPLE (Youtube Video)

Golden Temple Amritsar,  where daily on an average 200 thousand pilgrims and tourists visit has only one vehicular approach road and rest are narrow lanes. In 1986 the Govt of India dubiously planned to have a corridor around the Temple and wide roads to reach it, since it thought the secessionists had an upper hand in the narrow and crowded lanes. Govt did demolish about a thousand structures  around temple including historic shops and minor shrines. But the Hindu fanatic organisation felt that the master plan has on the contrary added to the grace and popularity of Temple. It thus endevoured to stop the widening of roads. However the Indian High Courts and even Supreme Court ruled in favour of the Govt plan and ordered widening of roads. Having lost on all fronts the fanatics resorted to blackmail. However on July 13, 2013 the Govt demolished the structures which stood on the way to Temple. This video unmasks the jealousy of the RSS towards Temple.

Only SD video retained.

PUNJABIS & INDIAN INDEPENDENCE

Wednesday, 14 August 2013

A sensible Punjabi will never celebrate Aug. 15 (Indian Independence Day). It was the gloomy day when 1 million  Punjabis were massacred and 10 millions forced to migrate leaving behind their homes hearths and havelis. Congress India instead of mitigating  the sufferings of Punjabi people adopted policies discriminatory to them and instead commenced the persecution which unfortunately continues till date.

YET ANOTHER TOUT COMMITS HARAKIRI?

YET ANOTHER TOUT COMMITS HARAKIRI?

Once again it is proved that it is the cowards who adopt easy paths in life. When the people of Punjab were struggling against the excesses of Congress Central Govt, some black-sheep became touts of the Govt. The Govt injected terrorism in the legitimate and peaceful struggle of Punjabis to malign it before the world. It was then time for the cheap people to earn easy money by clandestinely adopting wrong ways but they were shielded by the official machinery because they supported the Congress state.
We have many examples were such anti- social elements finally commit suicide. We have the glaring example of  Criminal in Uniform ex-Senior Suptt. of Police Ajit Singh Sandhu who when cornered before the law took the other way to cope up by committing suicide.
Today’s papers are carrying headlines of another tout committing not only suicide but eliminated whole of his family. Killing his innocent daughter, wife and son, what more cruelty could there be. If the beast had decided to take his life he should have taken his own, but such people are always a burden on society and the way they would enjoy the sadistic pleasure of others pains he again drew the pleasure from the pains of his own family. In fact they don’t belong to any family, any body. If a man has no love for his village society, his nation, he can’t be faithful to his own family, is thus proved once again.
(In the end I must clarify that I don’t know this Avtar Singh and had never heard him before I got  a hint from Punjab Spectrum that he was a tout. We are told that he was president of the so called Anti-Terrorist Front.)
It is also being rumoured that KPS Gill another mass murderer of Punjabis has developed strong tendencies for such an act i.e suicide. We also learn he is suffering from a variety of disease. We suggest the Govt to increase his security so that he can’t commit and crime and see that he lives a full life of repentance.

GOVT NOT RETURNING THE SOURCE SIKH DOCUMENTS IT TOOK AWAY IN 1984

GOVT NOT RETURNING THE SOURCE SIKH  DOCUMENTS IT TOOK AWAY IN 1984

1984: Why is Government mum over missing Archives & Artefacts?

DR DALVINDER SINGH GREWAL*

THE SIKH MANUSCRIPTS AND archives taken from Sri Harmandar Sahib are in the news
being the bone of contention between the Defence Ministry and the SGPC. Then Defence
Minister A.K. Anthony denied in Parliament that the Army possessed any manuscripts or
article taken away from Harmandar Sahib during Operation Blue Star in 1984. Countering
the claim, SGPC President Sardar Avtar Singh Makkar characterized the statement as a lie
and demanded the resignation of the Defence Minister.
Following questions emerge out of this controversy.
1. Did the Army in 1984 collect and take away the archives and artefacts?
2. Did it return any or all of these documents and articles to SGPC?
3. If SGPC did not receive these documents and articles, who has their custody?
As these questions are important for Sikhs as well as the Ministry of Defence, it is
pertinent to know the facts.
In an article „6 June 1984 - Events Observed in Person‟, written by Brig. (retd.) Onkar
Singh Goraya appeared in „Sewa Lehar‟, May 2008, has following to say:
“I spoke to Sardar Bhan Singh, Secretary and Sardar Abhilashi Singh, Deputy Secretary,
SGPC in 1984. They said, “It is very important to save the Sikh Archives and Treasure
(Toshakhana). We wonder if something remained in such a heavy shelling.” I had seen the
Toshakhana some months ago, but did not know who looks after the treasure and how?
They explained to me this: “There are four locks on the front door. Keys of these locks are
with four different persons.” Situation was such that it was not possible to find out the
person having these keys. I took Sardar Bhan Singh and Sardar Abhilashi Singh in my jeep
and came to Darbar Sahib. Toshakhana is situated above the Main Gate (Darshani
Diodhee). To reach it one has to climb through narrow steps. Upstairs we saw that the outer
door had fallen on ground. Due to firing by tanks the outer room was burnt. In the rear wall
there were three shutters which were locked with two locks each. The shutters had the
marks of bullets and bayonets used by the Army soldiers, but none of the shutters was
broken. To ensure that no person is hidden behind we searched around. As we looked
through the window glasses we saw four doors which had copper plates with gold plating. I
was told that these doors were presented by Maharja Ranjit Singh for Harmandir Sahib but
were not installed due to some reason. These were affected by fire. There was a jewel
studded chandni presented by Nizam of Hyderabad to Harmandir Sahib. This was
completely burnt. The other items of Toshakhana included many gold, silver, jewel and
diamond studded archival articles which were lying behind the shutters. We have seen
through holes that the articles appeared safe, though the glass cases were broken. It was
not right to open these at this time as we did not have the keys. My first job was to take care
of Toshakhana. I wanted to place the guard for the security at the earliest so that loot does
not start. Keeping the situation in mind I preferred Sikh guards for the safety. There was only one Sikh battalion in Amritsar, viz., 2 Sikh Light Infantry. Col D D Singh was the
Commanding Officer of this battalion. I rang him up and asked him to send a guard of one
JCO and ten jawans.
The Guard arrival took 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile, I looked towards Akal Takht through
a window. Top floor had collapsed and was burning. A militant came out of the cave below
Akal Takht, dragging himself on his hands. It appeared that either one or both of his legs
were broken. A black dress commando had aimed the sten gun on him. He was saying
something to him, which could not be heard because of the distance. The fighter pointed
towards his chest. The commando fired a burst which killed him instantly. This scene is still
fresh in my eyes till date.
On arrival of the guard, I ordered the JCO, a Naib Subedar to place a sentry, one each
at the Main Gate (Darshani Diodhee) where the stairs started, and other at burnt room. Both
were to have weapons and ammunition. No one, neither an army personnel nor a civilian
was to be allowed to enter. If any one tried he would be fired at. I explained to the Naib
Subedar that this was a very precious treasure of the Sikhs. If it is looted it will bring
a very bad name to the Army. I feel proud that these jawans neither touched anything
themselves nor allowed anyone to come near.
On return to Div HQs I gave the entire report to my General. He appreciated my work.
But I was not sill satisfied. I wanted the Toshakhana to be opened and checked, so that
representatives of SGPC could be satisfied that nothing of Toshakhana was damaged. After
taking permission from Gen. Jamwal, I appointed a Board of Officers under the
presidentship of a Colonel, with two officer members from Punjab Government, one officer
member from District Administration and two members of SGPC. President SGPC Tohra
detailed Sardar Bhan Singh and Sardar Abhilashi Singh. Within next two or three days they
opened and checked everything and found these to be correct. After doing the paper
formality, it was locked and stamped. This way the Army was saved from a serious blame.
After some weeks it was handed over to Darbar Sahib Administration in the same
condition.”
* * * * * * *
This writer contacted Brig. (Retd) Onkar Singh Goraya on phone to confirm what he has
written. He confirmed that whatever he has written was 100% true. Brig Goraya was then
Col Administration of 15 Infantry Division, stationed at Amritsar, and responsible for all
administration during the Operation Blue Star.
On further research, this writer was also informed that all the documents of Sikh
Reference Library were also returned for which due receipts had been obtained by Army
and CBI. These were also duly signed by representatives of SGPC.
Having found the answer to missing relics, documents and articles, the question now
remains as to where these articles have gone? One source even reported that some of the
SGPC officials disposed of these to the archive dealers. How far it is correct needs to be
investigated.
An inquiry committee is certainly needed which must include independent sources to
find out the facts. These facts are vitally important to be investigated without delay and
without any interference from SGPC, Army or CBI.
